My partner and I are embarking on IVF but while we await treatment we feel there is no harm in continuing to try and conceive naturally (long shot we know but as all of you can relate we don’t want to give up hope) I have had a blood test which has show low progesterone levels. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to increase my levels or if there is anything which you have tried that has been beneficial either through diet or supplements.

Vitamin C and B6 have both been shown to increase progesterone levels. A good multivitamin like Designs for Health Twice Daily Multi has good amounts of both.
Though personally, what I think has actually been most helpful for improving my progesterone levels is seed cycling. You can find lots more info online, but it involves eating a blend of flax and pumpkin seeds for the first half of your cycle (period up until ovulation), and then a blend of sesame and sunflower seeds from ovulation until your next period. I was initially skeptical but since I’ve been doing it my luteal phase has gone from 11/12 days to 13/14 days, which points to improved progesterone levels.
Finally, you might also want to look into Proov tests. proovtest.com/ The Proov Confirm test is an at-home urine test (looks like an OPK) that you do on days 7, 8, 9 and 10 post-ovulation to see if your progesterone is staying high enough in your luteal phase to be able to support a pregnancy. If you do it for several months in a row and your levels are consistently low, you can ask your GP to prescribe progesterone pessaries to use while you’re trying naturally.
