Hello, I have will be having surgery on Tuesday for the removal of the left tube and wanted to get an idea of recovery time and effects. I am fit and healthy and exercise regularly. I was informed that I would have to miss a cycle whilst my body heals. any stories or advice is greatly appreciated. I am worried as I've never had a laproscopy.

I’ve had 2 laparoscopies and had both tubes removed - I would say after 2 weeks I was physically well enough to resume normal day to day life but avoided heavy lifting, etc for about 4 weeks. I think I was advised to wait at least one cycle but preferably 3. Hope your operation goes smoothly and you make a quick recovery. 💞

I’ve also had two laparoscopies. The second was to clip my right tube due to a hydrosalpinx. I think I felt ok after a week or two but waited 3 months before doing a cycle of IVF. Wishing you all the best and hope everything goes well with the op! Xx

Hi ourbaby. 2-3 weeks recovery is advisable. Even though it will most probably be don laparoscopically, they have still cut through some big muscles. You should be fine, and won't have the risk of any secretions draining from a blocked tube into your womb upsetting a developing embryo. I wish you a speedy recovery. Diane
