Hello,

I am going to be starting IVF next month and would love to know how many of you have had first time success with IVF. We have been trying for over 3 years and had polyp removed in June. I am 32 hubby is 35. Unexplained infertility. Any success stories would be appreciated. It really helps stay positive. Xx

Hey hun I'm a first time success story with twins! The little monkeys are 9 weeks old on Christmas day. Similar to you hubby and I had been trying for over 3 years. Unexplained fertility - no other explanation etc.

We had IVF & chose to have 2 eggs put back in and both were obviously successful! The girls are awesome & celebrate their first Christmas tomorrow bless them! My journey was not without scares though I had bleeding at 12 weeks approx & all the way through pregnancy (because it's soooo wanted) I think you do become a bit paranoid....have the babies moved enough today, should I be lifting certain things, is that pain normal etc.......but I got there. Planned C section at 38 weeks & my little miracles arrived 👶👶.

Wishing you & all the other ladies on here lots of luck in 2016 hun. 🎅🎁🎈. xx

I'm a bit behind Mooster - also had 2 embryos transferred and both took so I'm expecting twins too. I'm 11 weeks tomorrow and still worrying all the time. My next scan is still 2.5 weeks from now, maybe then I can relax a little. Although from what you describe, you never stop worrying!

My reason for IVF is recurrent miscarriage, found out I had APS which was treated in my last pregnancy but still ended in mc. Found out earlier this year my AMH levels were low and this was the likely cause of mc, along with the APS. And my thyroid levels are low too. I only had 2 good embryos that made it to blastocyst but it seems this is all you need!

Good luck babyhope, make sure you get yourself ready for it, take your folic acid, prenatal vitamins, drink lots of water and eat well - they say high protein diet is good. You are still quite young so your eggs should be good quality. Try and read up on the process too, it was much harder going through it than I had expected.

Thanks Tlove for your reply. 😊

after reading all success stories there is positive hope inside me. Can't wait for my period to arrive so that I can start with my short protocol treatment. I had my AMH test and doctor said it's very high(54) for my age but it's good she said. Wish you a very happy Christmas ! Xxx

Your AMH is good - 22 is normal. I was 3, so very low which came as such a shock as I had been getting pregnant really easily up to a year ago. You have good reason to be positive and do keep that way as I believe that mindfulness plays a big role as well. The first few days of injecting are tough, I found once I got to day 3 it was a little easier and you just have to remember at all stages why you are doing this.

Have a great Christmas - keep us updated in the new year with your progress!

I'm also a first time success story. I'm 35 and hubby 43. Our issue was mainly hubby's sperm so we had ICSI. I have mild PCOS but no idea if that effects our fertility - once they discovered hubby's issue they stopped doing tests on me as they said it would result in same route anyway. Good luck with your cycle!

Hi, I got my first ever bfp 2 1/2 weeks ago. It was our 1st ivf with icsi, I'm 34 and my hubby is 43, unexplained infertility and had been trying for 4yrs. I had short protocol and 11eggs collected, only one fertilised tho so was preparing for the worst. We had a 2day transfer, at the time it had 5 cells and was 'good quality'. The ride is still ongoing as I started bleeding before my bfp which is still continuing, scary but the baby is still there so so far ok. Good luck, it can happen, but if it doesn't 1st time round take comfort in knowing that the 2nd round will be far more tailored as they will know better how you react to treatment, the 1st round is always a bit experimental. Hello

I am 33 and my hubby is 39. We also had a diagnosis of unexplained infertility. We had been trying for approx 2.5 years and got our BfP after our first round of IVF in the summer. I am now 26 weeks pregnant.

I honestly couldn't imagine it happening for us but it did, so try to keep positive.

Good luck with your treatment in January!

Hi

Check your clinic for results we are starting ivf next year no date as yet as all paperwork has just been sent. We are going with care clinic and will be using one of there satellite clinics at our local hospital we will only have to attend the care clinic for egg collection and embryo transfer. I'm 31 and hubby is 30 I've looked into the clinic and the success rate for first attempt for women under 35 is almost 60%. We only get 1 nhs full funded cycle so we are using the term when not if. Do your research I'm under no illusions and have the fact in my mind it may not work first time but we are trying to remain positive and using the term when it helps me along. We are so excited for the new year. May I wish you and your hubby all the very best for the new year ahead and hope you are granted with your miracle xx

First full cycle (month before I injected but nothing grew) success for us! I'm 34, hubby 38. I had severe endometriosis and PCO (not the syndrome that's different apparently!) Rubbish cycle really too - my cysts grew so they could only get 5 eggs from 19 follicles, 3 fertilised and only 1 was good enough (Day 3). I bled week 7 and week 9-10. However, I'm 33 weeks now and expecting a little boy.

Its a tough journey but worth it for the end result!

Hi, BabyHope! I'm so happy for you! Great deal for the new year!

It won't sound soothing but it took us a long period of time to achieve the pregnancy. I was in case of endo, some complications, no male infertility. We couldn't conceive for two years when at last came to the fertility clinic. First we were offered to try IUI, and we did. No result, then ICSI - the same. After considering the facts our previous clinic wasn't clear enough as for the necessary procedure, so we changed it. It was biotexcom where we were supposed to take DE IVF. And from the third attempt only we were blessed to get pregnant. Now we are bringing up our 8 mo!

That was the deal in our case. But think you'll cope quicker as for ex. a friend of mine. Her infertility was unexplained, the partner was ok. It was her first IVF cycle when they started with twins. Unfortunately one vanished later. But still that was first time IVF success.

Good luck. I'm sure you'll do it quickly! x
