Intralipids

Hello lovely ladies I need your help re. intralipids. I had a consultation with immunologist who suggested to add clexane, increase steroid dose and add intralipids. I was asked to take intralipids 20 % once a week for 16 weeks ( which in my opinion is a bit excessive).

I know that each case is different but may I ask what protocol was given to you eg start in menstruation, then two days before transfer etc? My plan is to gather information regarding this and discuss back with immunologist.

Any side effects with intralipids?

hi, I have been on all of the above for fresh and frozen cycles. Each time 2 intralipids before transfer, two weeks apart with the second around 6 days prior to transfer. No side effects from the intralipids either. Xx

I assume one after the start of period then and the other before transfer as you mentioned. Thank you

Yes - I had intralipids in my last round. It was successful but it was also the first round we knew we had a euploid embryo, plus I was on 25mg Prednisolone, Clexane, I’d had ERA/EMMA/ALICE - so no idea if the intralipids helped!

I had one before transfer and then two more after a positive test I think. I think they were spaced two weeks apart. One a week sounds a lot! And expensive! Plus time consuming as you have to be on a drip for a couple of hours each time. It’s worth finding out why the doctor feels you need so many.

Thank you! So the timings were one before transfer ( a day or two??), And the rest were when exactly? On the day of positive test? And two weeks after ? Would it be ok if you check this please?

Forgot to say, no side effects. It’s basically soya beans I think
