I was due to have my 6th transfer end of Sept in Brno however have decided to bring transfer foward, just waiting for my period then will be good to start the meds .For the last 3 transfers I've had intralipids as well as steroids which has resulted in a BFN and 2 chemicals. I was advised to add these in due to high levels of cytokines. I am having doubts about the intralipids and a bit nervous due to Covid but also worried that if I don't have it I'm lowering my chances and it's out last frozen embryo.
Has anybody had any luck achieving a successful pregnancy after deciding not to use intralipids but included them on previous cycles? Xx
Not too bad thanks. Currently still saving up. Hoping to try our first DE round towards the end of the year if poss. Just still really undecided about whether to go abroad (our preferred option) or whether to play it safer and do it in the U.K to avoid the stresses of travelling abroad in these crazy times. Hoping we’ll be able to make a decision soon as I’m always better with a plan! xxx
From personal experience I'm glad that I chose to go abroad, think for us it was mainly down to cost and it is nice to combine a break with the transfers, on the downside it has been really stressful this time round due to the uncertainty of COVID but hopefully now flights are back up a.d running it will all be ok. There is a useful website call eggdonationfriends and they have a lot of information about clinics abroad xxx
Great thanks. Yeah I imagine it has all been so stressful. Just reading everyone’s stories on here has really shown that. I’ve really felt for everyone! But like you I’m drawn to abroad so really hoping that things continue to improve xxx
Hey Claire, I've started my steroids and now seriously thinking about not doing intralipids. I've done a fair bit of googling (as I do) and found a study that showed it made little difference so its maybe not worth it!xxx
Haha, I hope I haven't made you doubt yourself!! I've read the same and a bit in limbo!! Are u going to mention it to Ruth, I think I might ask my co-ordinator as and when my period arrives.....nothing yet even after dancing around my living room this morn xxx
Ok, so spoke to Ruth, she isnt really for it I get the feeling.....whether thats an old school thing or not Ive not idea (but I do trust her as she has been in this game a long time).......she reckons eating lots of egg whites is pretty much the same thing!! She doesnt mince her words!! Ha ha ha Oh Im also taking high dose fish oils as thats a natural lowering of nk cells too. xxx
Thank you for the update lovely, I think you've just made my mind up for me. I was about to warm up some home made soup for lunch but may have scrambled egg whites now haha. Have you decided what your going to do?
I've had p.pain for last few days so it's definitely on its way,I'm getting so frustrated. I have omega 3 oils so hopefully that doing the trick xxx
Yes Im doing the 1000mg of omega 3 fish oils too that also has EPA & DHA in them Heuchera (for your info too). I dont think Im going to bother with intralipids to be honest. Will see if OH has any strong opinions but I think Im gonna leave it! I cant get them done when I come home so kind of pointless if I cant carry on. Oh that's good....come on period....I need you!! Ha ha ha xxx
I already have steriods so Im kind of self medcating....sorry bit naughty! I can buy more when Im abroad over the counter. Fish oils are meant to be good for lowering immunes naturally....Im taking those too.xx
My clinic doesn’t offer intralipids as they don’t believe it makes any difference. Due to covid I also wasn’t allowed to take steroids this time either and am now 11 weeks with twins.......this was the first transfer I didn’t take the steroids too 🤷♀️
That is wonderful news, you must be over the moon. How many transfers had you done with the steroids? Did you have any tests for immune issues or did they prescribe them to be on the safe side? X
I'm sorry to hear that you have experienced an ectopic pregnancy, I know it can devastating to experience a loss.
Wishing you a happy healthy pregnancy and thank you for sharing your experience, makes me feel less concerned about my decision not to include intralipids xx
