Intralipids?

So after a total implantation failure of our pgs normal Embryo in November my husband and I will do our last FET of a mosaic embryo. We have done all sort of tests including ERA and karyotype. No issues found.

The clinic has suggested intralipids just before the FET. This is the last thing they are suggesting. Im also asking for progesterone test which they are saying i dont need.

Anyone can share any success stories after use of intralipids?

❤️❤️

Hi Lorita. Some specialists believe that Intralipid can dampen down the immune system so that the embryo is accepted and not treated as a foreign body. I have heard of women using it that have become pregnant, but it wasn't proven to be because of the infusion. Have a look at the add-on section on the HFEA website and see what they recommend. hfea.gov.uk Good luck if you do decide to use it. Diane

I do intralipids. No harm in doing it. One week prior to FET. As soon as you get a bfp then monthly after that till 12 weeks

Have you done every blood clotting test e.g. TEG and pai-1? I did the usual ones and always came back normal until I demanded more thorough blood clotting tests and came back I have issues and need clexane daily during pregnancy up till 6 weeks after birth plus any long haul flights and surgery in future. Do check those out too.

I did karyotype and a special test that covers Thrombophillic mutations. All was clear for both me and my husband. I have decided to test progesterone 1 day before FET from my own will. The clinic claims i dont need to but I wish to cover everything. Its our only shot... If it fails we have to start fresh

I would still book to get try and pai-1 done because other tests will likely not cover this type of thrombosis.

Good idea getting progesterone checked. My Dr tested it two days before fet (it needed adjusting) then again on transfer day and it needed adjusting again so much so that I'm now in progesterone in oil injections which hurt as they're intramuscular plus 3 x cyclogest. Lubion didn't work for me unfortunately.

Best of luck xx

For my previous transfer i had 3x cyclogest daily. No testing of progesterone whatsoever. My embryo was pgs tested and transfered in line with Era. It failed. So I'm looking into every possible thing there is that i can cover. Thankyou dear xxxx

You'll likely need more progesterone. Fingers crossed that's the answer xx

I would give it a go! I have done intralipids on it's own but then added in prednisolone which I got a positive however it didnt last but I think that was more down to transfer timing issues....ERA confirmed this. However my progesterone levels were also far too low so make sure you have them correct.xxx

Im. Pushing on having progesterone tested. They are still saying i do notneed to so im doing it on my ownnitiative. I'll do intralipids too. My embryo is mosaic so my chances are not very high but I'm still hoping this will be my miracle ❤️❤️❤️❤️

You want them over 60nmol/l or around 20ng/ml.....just as a guide! If you can get them to give you prednisolone too that would be good to try. Best of luck, you just never know which embryo will work!!🤞🏻🙏🏻xx

Hi, during my last ivf, I took intralip infusion and now I have a little boy. I was on clexane and prednisole too. I am not sure if my pregnancy was due to the fact that it took this drug but maybe it’s worth trying. I wish you all the best of luck with your treatment x

Hi Lorita,

I used intralipids on my second round round which is so far is successful, I’m currently 15 weeks pregnant. It’s really hard to say though if they are the reason I have gotten this far. Research on them isn’t great and they aren’t proven. My consultant recommended them because I have crohns.

Me and my husband took the approach of let’s do everything we can. I was also on a low dose of steroids and fragmin blood thinners. I know a few others who have been successful with using Intralipids to but again could be other reasons to why it worked. I think you have to ask can you reasonably afford it and have you tried everything else. I wouldn’t have put myself in debt to do it as i think it’s not proven treatment and is very costly. Also every individual is different. X

I did two FET after adjusting progesterone according my ERA results, with PGS embryos and intralipid. Both failed. These are the ones that medicine and science don't explain.

I tried a third attempt with my last 2 embryos (poor quality), same procedure... adjusted progesterone time and intralipid. I am 10 weeks pregnant now!

Science doesn't explain all BFN yet. But you need to increase your chances!!!

I recommend intralipid, doesn't hurt trying.

Thankyou so much for replying. So by adjusting progesterone time for uoyr successful transfer you mean you did not follow ERA? Xxxx

Yes I did follow ERA, my progesterone timing was adjusted from traditional 120 hs to 144 hs. But it took me few cycles to get pregnant.

Ah! I did two ERA tests... it was not necessary, but I wanted to take second ERA test with 144 hs of progesterone to confirm that my lining was good! I did this second test 'cause I was frustrated with 2 x BFN after ERA test... all with pgs-tested embryos.

I guess we just need to be patient and let nature do its work, after having checked all possible issues.
