Intralipids during FET. Who has had them?

Fingerscrossed38 profile image

I have had NK cells in the past and testing against pregnancy tissue showed successful suppression with Intralipids.

I am about to have my first ever FET on Tuesday and will be having Intralipids before the transfer and if I get a BFP I will also have them a month after the first infusion.

I don't know whether to have intralipids on the Saturday (3 days prior), Sunday (2 days prior) or Monday (day before) transfer. Dr says 2-3 days is fine initially but then yesterday said I can have them on Monday which is only 1 day prior!

Which day did you have yours and did you get your bfp?

Ah the waiting is relentless in the process! If for some awful reason it didn't thaw properly could they just take another and thaw that? How long does it take to thaw? Would have thought not long since it's so tiny...

I always have my intralipids on the morning of my transfer. However I do take prednisolone a good few days leading up to that. Lots of clinics seem to fo different things. I've had 2 BFPs although they didnt stick but again with these I was on prednisolone. I have since found out I have an issue with low progesterone so that would have accounted for my previous failures and pregnancy losses. Good luck.xx

Hi, they'd for replying.

It's true each clinic has different protocols. Some do intralipids 7 days prior to a few others day of. Argh I just wish I knew which day was optimal. I'm not on prednisolone and haven't heard of it...is it a steroid? Steroids didn't work for me when I was tested so hoping intralipids help.

Low progesterone has been an issue for me too. They're putting me on Lubion and 2 x cyclogest daily from 5 days prior to fet and then continuing until otd. Fingers crossed that's the key for us both. Xx

My clinic said there was no evidence for me using steriods however I pushed and they said I could if I wanted. Cant for sure if it helped or not but I have only used them when I got both my BFPs, could just be a coincidence! Yes hoping the progesterone is the missing piece of the puzzle. Good luck.xx

I had intralipids on one of my attempts and had this done 3 or 4 days before the transfer. I am not sure about the timings and how quickly it can take effect and help but i'd prefer to do it if it's needed then not and then wonder if it would have made a difference. Not sure if this helps but good luck xx

Thanks for replying. Can I ask if you got a bfp the cycle you did intralipids?

No I didn't. I did get pregnant on my third attempt which ended in a miscarriage but haven't had a positive since and didnt have intralipids then either. I am waiting for my 7th transfer due to be a fet in October. X
