titled bleeding in pregnancy

hi all I'm new here and looking for advice,I'm freaking out a little as of 8days ago I found out I'm pregnant I'm 37 with two kids 13 and 9. I was told 2years ago that kids were off the table and low and behold here I am just over 8 weeks now. But today i found a little blood when I went to the toilet this morning so I panicked a little but It wasnt coming out at the tim., now 6 hours on I'm now actually bleeding.i have a slight cramp but nothing painful, almost like period feeling its red too iv looked up loads onlinebut so many things it could be, I'm hoping it stops but if not am i looking at miscarriage??

Hi there, it’s very scary but bleeding in early pregnancy can be for a number of reasons and not always a bad outcome. Yes miscarriage is always a possibility but sometimes there can be an area of bruising next to the pregnancy that causes the bleed. I have had both outcomes so know a bit of how you are feeling.x Do you have an early pregnancy unit near you? Best thing would be to contact them to discuss the bleeding & they can advise you and possibly arrange a scan if they think that’s going to be helpful.xx

Hi, thankyou for replying. Not directly near but I could get there if desperately needed I'm going to call gp or 111 just to get some advice at least. I have my first antenatal appointment next tue. So just hoping all this week nothing more happens the bleed has stopped essentially so hoping it's done with I forgot how scary first trimester is?? Xx

I just had a subchrionic hemorrhage and the baby is fine. Very mild cramping, dark blood with no clots

The nearest hospital to you should have an EPU. There can be lots of reasons for bleeding during pregnancy and I don’t want to scare you but if the bleeding is accompanied by painful cramps (in my case worse than a period) then it’s sadly most likely a miscarriage. If so I’m extremely sorry for you. I’ve been there so I know what it’s like and my heart goes out to you xxx
