I was hoping to get some guidance and thoughts please? This is my first time posting so please bear with me.
Hubby and I are hoping to start treatment in August / September (round 6 of ICSi).
However, I have had a specialist gynaecology appointment for tailbone pain which appears to coming from a very small cyst. The gynaecologist has confirmed that there is no great concern but due to the location of the Cyst this could be causing the constant pain on top of side effects from the pain killers.
I have now been advised to take the pill named medroxgprogesterone. I have made the gynaecologist aware of my pending ICSI Treatment and she said it safe, but I am not too sure as I have found we have to do much of our research ourselves these days(!).
I have made an enquiry in connection with this with my fertility clinic, but I would really appreciate and value your thoughts and opinions if it is safe to take medroxgprogesterone for a month or so to see if the cyst pain subsides and that it will not affect pending treatment?
Any pointers will really help, especially as I do not want to jeopardise what may be my last round of ICSI treatment.

Hi,I was put on Medroxyprogesterone (Provera) for around 3 months prior to starting IVF for a pre-existing endometrial issue and I stopped just before the start of FSH injections. This was agreed jointly between my Fertility Professor and Gynaecology and I don’t see it causing a problem.
Hi Annjali. I was wondering whether the tailbone thing is due to a pilonidal sinus/cyst?? My thoughts, so it might not be. If it is, so you need it draing and/or antibiotics as it could be a source of infection. Apologies if I am mistaken, and the medication you mention should be finr. be careful not to get constipated if your pain killers contain codeine. Hope all goes well for you. Diane
Thank you Diane, I hope you are well.My clinic have confirmed provera is fine to use. My concern is this will only mask the problem so I will look into your valued comments if things don’t improve.
