I'd be really grateful for any advice or experiences from other ladies on this issue as I'm really worried tonight..
I had my first fresh embryo transfer last Wednesday (1st June) so am on day 9 today and on twice a day progesterone pessaries which I've been taking vaginally. Today I forgot to take my pessary before work but took it at lunchtime, so around 15 hours after my dose last night.
Around 3pm today I started spotting brown stringy patches which have now turned dark pink and more like period consistency. My tummy is also tender and sore. I'm so worried I've caused a dip in progesterone and this has caused a bleed, as my period would be due around now.
We had amazing results from egg retrieval/freezing so am so upset at the though it could all be over. I've phoned my clinic in Aberdeen and they said to phone back if bleeding gets heavier but they're a 120 mile drive away (we're north of Scotland) so any sort of scan is unlikely to be arranged over the weekend.
Any help or advice much appreciated. X

What a worrying time for you! Honestly one late progesterone wouldn’t impact your cycle. It could be implantation, it could be less good news, but I promise you it’s nothing you’ve done. Good luck xx
Thanks so much for your post - it's so difficult to remember we are at the hands of science at the end of the day, frustrating when we do everything right! Will try to keep positive. X x
Hello, I have literally just been listening to a piece in a podcast about this very thing. They said one late one is unlikely to be particularly detrimental, it just said that you should take missed one asap and continue. Which is what you have done anyway! I hope everything works out ok for you xxxx
I just read that 40% of us spot, and bleed during the first trimester, this due to increase progesterone and all the hormonal thunder . My story is simile we had the same amount of embryos and I’m now around four weeks pregnant and that’s a fourth attempt, 3rd pregnancy. What I want to say really is that I’m spotting again as I was during previous pregnancies which I lost around the time of 6 weeks . However I’m still hoping and wishing , that our dream will come true, and please try to gather happy thoughts , stay strong , positive and push trough it ! Sending some baby dust from universe xxx
Thank you for your reply. Definitely trying to stay positive and keep in mind we have lots of chances ahead of us if this week's test doesn't give us the positive outcome. Wishing you all the best. X x
I had a bit of bleeding around my 7th week. Just before my official scan was due. It was so scary that I thought it was all over. The doctors asked me to wait till the next day and call back if the bleed increased. Thankfully the bleed stopped in 20 mins or so and I had some watery discharge for another hour. Sorry tmi. But then everything stopped and it was as though nothing happened. I was able to see the bud the next day in the scan with a heart beat.
I have seen such stories on this forum a lot and there is no explanation whatsoever why the bleeding happens. Even I checked with the doctor and they did not have an answer. Just that the baby looks fine and growing well. So hang in there. It will be all ok. Sending you positive thoughts 🤞❤️🤗🍀
Thanks so much. It does seem there are so many different outcomes and experiences so I will just have to wait and see. Trying to keep busy until Thursday (test day!) and take it from there. X x
