We lost our first baby and was wondering how early you all went to your doctors?
Last time, I called my DR and they referred me to my local hospital to arrange my booking appointment with the midwife so the DR didn’t actually do anything.
Should I be asking for progesterone? Do I need additional tests due to my previous loss? Sorry I’m really stressed I can’t lose this baby xx

Hi, huge congrats 🙂 and so sorry to hear about your loss, I totally understand the stress you will be feeling, I had 3 miscarriages, 2 from natural pregnancies and 1 from IVF then fell pregnant naturally just as we were about to do IVF again, I called the docs as soon as I found out which was about 3 weeks and they put me onto aspirin from 6 weeks, I’m now nearly 30 weeks and still on it and they have said I will be on it until 36 weeks, there was no extra tests etc just a couple of extra scans I have at 30 and 36 weeks due to the previous miscarriages, hope all goes well 🙂 x
Hello, thanks so much for your reply! Thank you, I’m sorry to hear about your losses too. It never gets easier does it🥹🫶🏼. Congratulations with your rainbow baby, and wow 30 weeks! Not long left🥳. Thank you for your comments, I’ll be sure to contact my DR and see what they say this time! I was prescribed aspirin by the midwife with my first pregnancy but didn’t have chance to use it. Thanks so much and wish you all the best for the rest of your pregnancy xx
Congratulations-I completely understand the anxiety and stress of being pregnant after loss. I had my son after a miscarriage and am now 18 weeks pregnant again after losing 3 pregnancies since trying for a sibling for him. I’m currently taking a few different medications (including aspirin) due to my personal risk factors as we did tests after multiple losses -but I would recommend trying to ask your GP for progesterone as a preventative measure and certainly* if you have any bleeding. I would also really recommend an early scan at 7 weeks. Most GPs happy to help refer for early scan if you’ve had a miscarriage before. Best of luck - recurrent loss is quite rare so really really hope it works out for you. Xx
Congratulations 🥳! Sadly they won’t do anything if you’ve only suffered one miscarriage as one offs are common. It’s only when you have recurrent miscarriages (3 I understood unless they changed it to 2 recently) that they’ll look into anything else. However, once you get to 6 weeks you can always go to the epu and get a scan
