When to stop Buserelin and stims

Hello all,

My clinic have not said when I need to stop administering buserelin and stems prior to egg collection and I am getting stressed because I may not have enough stimulation meds left which is a total faff as I live far away from the clinic. I emailed them this afternoon, but no reply so I thought I would ask this wonderful community in the interim.

Also, do all your clinics tell you how many follicles are growing, sizes etc?

Re: follicles and sizes, my clinic don’t unless I push and ask. First cycle I didn’t even ask but now , every scan I ask how many and what size. They can also print it out for you .

Re: here’s my timeline for stopping stims (I had to order extra, they came the next day)

Saturday - Buserelin & stim usual time & then trigger injection that night at the time they instructed.

Sunday no injections

Egg collection Monday (today)

Aw thank you. That really does help. What is it with the clinics not giving us information? If I ask, I feel like I’m bothering them and to think this is the private sector!

I know, we are paying for this service!! Because I’ve done a few now I wanted to know the progress each scan and compare other cycles. Anyways I had to force myself to be more assertive . 💪🏼

I'm triggering tonight and I was told not to take stims. My final few days are: Sunday - stims and ovulation suppressor (Fyremadel), Monday - ovulation suppressor and trigger injections, Tuesday - no injections, Wednesday - egg collection. I was surprised there were no stims tonight. So you may have enough? Do you have an emergency out of hours to call?

And on your other q I was shown the graph with my follicles on there but not explicitly told all the sizes. Could've taken a photo I suppose.

Really sounds like your clinic isn't giving you enough info though! You should feel confident being a bit pushy for more, it's a big deal!! Good luck 🍀

Hiya, oh how annoying that they have not given you a timetable. Are you taking Gonal f as the stim? My egg collection was on a Monday, I took my last stim on the Friday evening and last Buserelin on Saturday, then trigger on the Saturday too.

Also yes, my clinic gave me a chart with how many follicles and sizes.

That’s so annoying! They should really have been clearer.

In my case, and I think that’s normal, the trigger was always the last injection - so nothing after that. Before the trigger, it depends - usually I would still do the stims and ovulation suppressor same evening as the trigger (last dose), but on one occasion when they wanted to be a bit gentler they did say to skip the stims for the last evening. So this time, same as ladies above: Saturday stims and cetrotide, Sunday stims, cetrotide and trigger, Monday nothing, Tuesday egg collection .

And yes my clinic always told me how many follicles and what sizes x

Thank you all, much appreciated and definitely given me reassurance. Can I just check if anyone was severely bloated suddenly before egg collection (EC) and whether having Accupuncture close to EC was ok?
