When to stop progesterone pessaries and HRT?

I am currently just over 8 weeks pregnant. My clinic said I could stop taking them at 9 weeks but I have enough left to last me until 12 weeks.

Would you recommend I stay on them until then? Amy suggestions please.

I would ask the clinic if you can take them until 12 weeks as you already have them. See what they say?

I stopped mine a few days ago at exactly 12 weeks. I would be tempted to stay on them a couple more weeks but obviously completely up to you! X

My clinic told me to stop mine at 8 weeks and was a bit nervous about it. I took half dose until 8w3d and decided to just brave it. 9w2d today and had a private scan, everything on track and looking great! I say there is no harm in continuing until 12 weeks but your clinic wouldn’t tell you to stop unless it was safe to do so. Xx

My clinic has told me to stop the twice weekly injections at 10 weeks. Then just pessaries twice a day until 12 weeks, then one a day until 14 weeks. But I do have a history of miscarriage, so not sure if that will make a difference!

Thanks for all of your comments, the clinic have said I can come off at 9 weeks or stay on it’s not going to harm until 12 weeks. So may just start to wean myself off from 9 weeks will make me feel better xx

Hi!

I was told to stop at 12 weeks. I was dreading my first scan at 13 weeks that the pregnancy would be no longer viable but my clinic the sonographer said that by then the placenta takes over the role. I am now 27 weeks pregnant and all is fine.

I'm on a Facebook forum for IVF conceptions and a lot of ladies carry on weaning themselves off the meds until they've used all their meds up.

Thank you. I have been quite anxious with my meds. Seeing my scan at 13 weeks I was sobbing, but it was all worth it. Xx
