when to stop pessaries

my period has well and truly started today and my test date isn’t until Sunday. I’m supposed to use the pessaries until the test date but it seems pointless now and the clinic is shut until Monday. Would you normally stop them when your period arrives?

Have you got a pregnancy test? I would say do one if you want tmw morning. just continue taking just in case it's spotting. Xx

Sadly it’s more than spotting, it’s very heavy. 😞 I’ve currently got covid so can’t go and buy any tests and only have the one from the clinic.

Oh no I know how you feel after 8 years 4th try got to 6 weeks and went for scan and it was a ecotopic for me so depressed. So sorry you have had a bleed 💔 you might still be fine. No one can buy for you? Your other half?

As annoying as it is I've always taken them until OTD- even when I've been pretty sure it was over. Just because you hear of women bleeding and still getting that BFP. Sending lots of love xx

Thank you, I’m not surprised but it’s always disappointing.

I am so sorry it hasn’t worked. Tbh I used to stop meds once i started bleeding but only once I’d had a few failed rounds and knew it want implantation or something

Having said that apart from the mental ‘on hols’ trauma of still taking them there actually is no harm is taking for a few more days. I get you want to just move on though

Huge hugs xx

Im so sorry 😢 it’s annoying not to get to test day without period. I normally take a pregnancy test to be sure and if it’s after 9dpt, I’m bleeding heavily and test is completely negative I normally do stop (although clinic advise to keep going until test day) Amazon do next day delivery of tests if you want to use your clinic one and then still have some in the house. Defo test though before stopping as I’ve had really really heavy bleeding for the first 10 weeks on my successful round xx

Ps I’m adding progesterone injections to next transfer as I have been bleeding before test day you may want to discuss with clinic in case there’s something they want to suggest there xx

I had this twice. The doctors told me to continue until OTD. In my case it was a mess and not just spotting. I'm sorry that you have to go through this now. Did you have you progesterone levels checked?

Not to my knowledge, my clinic seems to do the bare minimum!

I understand. My new clinic does not track that either. Perhaps you can speak to your consultant about it in your next appointment.

I think i will. It’s so frustrating as I’ve never actually seen a consultant, it’s all telephone conversations which I find much harder than in person.

I’m sorry, it’s so shitty. Personally, I have stopped meds before OTD before (I wasn’t bleeding but had a stark negative at 12dt5dt and still 2 days to go). I completely understand you wanting to stop but will say I then spent those 2 days in a panic wishing I hadn’t stopped. In my case it wouldn’t have made a difference but just a heads up xx

Just saw you’ve got your clinic’s test. I’d do that and then if you want to repeat on OTD order a frer off Amazon or something - both will give you the correct results by now xx

So sorry to hear it's a negative. Never easy...

I also got a stark negative on 12dp6dt, and felt it was pointless to continue the meds. Our clinic told us specifically on the day of the FET to continue all meds (Estradiol and vaginal progesterone tablets) until the blood test (which got moved until tomorrow as we were on holiday), even if I'd get my period in the meantime (which I didn't). It's pointless but I just follow the instructions anyway. Tomorrow morning I'll go in for my blood test and probably they'd tell us to stop the drugs tomorrow. Last cycle when I stopped, I got my period 2 days after.
