Hi all, I’ve had 4 endometrial scratches in total. I had it done in:
July 2020 (FET, cancelled transfer), September 2020 (FET, chemical pregnancy), February 2021 (FET, 24 week loss). February 2022 (fresh transfer, possible chemical/bfn).
Prior to the scratch, I had two fresh transfers and they were bfn. The only time I’ve had implantation was with a FET that coincided with an endometrial scratch.
I’m planning to have my first FET (following delivering the baby we lost in September 2021) in July. I’m worried that if I don’t have a scratch the embryo will fail to implant.. Has anyone else had more than a few scratches done? hoping they aren’t harmful?

I’m not sure I can answer your question on whether they are harmful or not but I have had a scratch on every transfer- 5 in total. My fresh transfer was a BFN but my 4x FET have all resulted in implantation (2x ectopics and 2x BFP). I’m not sure if the scratch was the thing that made the difference or not but I didn’t want to change what had worked for me so I kept to the same plan with each transfer.
Wishing you lots of luck for your next transfer! 🍀
Thanks very much for responding Snoopydraws!.. I have only been told there is a very small risk of infection with the procedure. I just started to feel like I was the only one who’s had more than a few scratches and that worried me! Probably just my anxious brain! 🙈 The scratch has been working for me so I feel the same re keeping it in the plan! x
