4 eggs collected and only 2 made it at the moment.

Hi guys, I have endometriosis on my both ovaries and I was put through IVF after waiting for over 2 years through NHS. I have the following issues:

My Amh is low below 6

Cyst on both ovaries

Taking prostrap injection to stop the spread of endometriosis.

On the 10th Jan I got my egg collection done and only 4 were collected and today I was told only 2 made it at the moment. On Saturday I will find out exactly if the eggs made it or not.

I would like to find out the following:

Will NHS fund another round of egg collection since the more I have the better chance of me getting pregnant.

Also when can I start to do workouts again since I need to lose about 7 kgs before the embryo transfer.

I feel stressed out.

Please help ladies xx

Don’t discount those beautiful 2 embryos yet! I only got 4 eggs ended up with two at day 5 we transferred one which ended in chemical and we did a fet cycle with our last and it worked 🤗 🙌🏼 Good luck 🤞🏼

Thank you so much for your reply.

I hope these make to day 5 so I have chance or getting pregnant after my surgery.

I don’t know if I will get another round of egg collection through nhs since I know first or 2nd round of ivf can be a failure and I thought the more the merry chance I have falling pregnant.

If you read some of my older posts you will see I’ve had surgeries too and a 5yr delay between transfers! Just check with your clinic how many cycles/transfers are funded. We didn’t have any funded so I can’t help there xx

We got 2 blasts out of 9 eggs on our first round and they ended up being great quality, so don't lose hope. I think for whether you get more rounds or not, you'd need to ask your hospital - the NHS policy in our area was one round and one transfer (fresh or frozen), anything else would then have to be funded. I resumed normal activity/exercise a couple of days post-collection but I didn't have any pain or complications - maybe check with your clinic and also take things easy if you need to as your body's been through a lot.

Thank you so much.. I was just getting really upset.. I just hope they make to Saturday.. I understand quality should be over quantity.

Wishing you so much luck.

I also have endo and cysts, I had a laparoscopy in May then we started treatment at the end of Sept/Oct.

They collected 10 eggs, 8 mature and only 2 fertilised however both were top quality.

One was put back in and I’m now 3 months pregnant with our miracle and one is in the freezer.

I found this part the hardest so I’m sending you lots of positive thoughts. Best of luck to you x

Thank you so much.

I am still waiting on my surgery date.. really scared for that too. How was the surgery and recovery time.

Does your ovary hurts after the cyst is removed. Feel really nervous and scared about the surgery too.

Surgery and recovery were ok, I really recommend getting up and slow walking plus peppermint tea for the gas pains. I had excision and ablation. I was back to work after 10 days (although I probably should have taken longer)

I never had my cysts removed as they burst beforehand 🙈😩

I currently have 4 cysts and I’m waiting to see if they reduce themselves.

Try not to worry about the surgery, my periods and pain improved for the time between surgery and ivf. Good luck!! X

Hi there, you can read the fertility policy for your CCG online to understand how many NHS funded cycles you are allowed. It is a free info so check it in google. We were entitled to just 1 fresh which didn’t work with the embryo and the next FET with the second embryo we have we will have to fund. If it doesn’t work we will go private. Good luck 🤞

Best of luck with the 2 embryos 🥰 check with your clinic about NHS funding another round as depends on postcode. Hope all goes well with your endo surgery x
