I was wondering if anyone had any experience or comments on endometriosis in egg collection
So quick story I have 2 cysts one on each of my ovaries both about 4cm i know there are follicles there but they have concerns that they are behind the cysts.
My question is will they go through the cysts to get to the follicles we are only trying once as it’s self funded and can’t afford any more attempts so I wanted to know if there was any risks with them doing this or if they will even doing it ?
Any answers will be gratefully appreciated

Hi, I also have endo and had endometriomas on both ovaries. Our clinic recommended that I did 3 months of prostap before egg collection which completely shrunk the cysts and by the start of ivf they had disappeared. Not sure if that would be an option for you.
I didnt get many eggs (only 3) but had one put in on day 4 and another frozen, so the endo didn't affect egg quality thankfully. I'm almost 9 weeks pregnant after that cycle (which was our first) and we had a 8 week scan where we could see one of the cysts has come back, however the doctor has said that once pregnant they won't cause any problems and they often shrink in pregnancy.
If they hadn't shrunk after the prostap they would have tried to do the ivf around them, so I guess it must be possible.
Well they have decided to just go ahead with the treatment and hope the follicles are accessible I just think it would be a waste if there are follicles there that they can’t get !
Congratulations on your pregnant I can only hope I have some good luck thank you for the reply xXx
I had a 4cm one by the time of egg collection but my doctor was not concerned. I was put on the long protocol, they were able to retrieve 17 eggs in total from both ovaries ( I did ask how many from the one of the endometriosis but they didn’t track that), and had a 5 day embryo transfer. 7 months pregnant today. Good luck!
My Gp and doctors told me to worry about the endometriosis again after I have a baby. I had had surgery to remove a larger one 6 months prior to ivf.
I am not of much help. However, I just came around to say good luck to you. I hope the process is a success. I know a friend whose doctors still went ahead with the process. Take of your self. Dont stress a lot as that is not good for you. Eat a diet that is full of nutrition.
