Happy New Year .Does anyone have done zymot for high DNA fragmentation. My second ICSI cycle with Picsi failed .My husband got high DNA fragmentation.I heard that ZYMOT is a new technology which can help people with high DNA fragmentation.

Hi Hayleh,Thank you so much for the message. Microfluidic sperm sorting is a new technology which is using a chip from company called Zymotfertility in US.Recent studies say it is good to separate sperm with less DNA fragmentation.I heard that only few clinic has it in UK.
My husband got varicocele and I think that is the cause for DNA fragmentation.I want to try this technology before any surgery for varicocele.
Just to say that we had a large varicocele and after the surgery, his fragmentation went down from 42% to 21%.....so it made a massive difference to us x
Hi Sheela. I must admit I don't much about Zymot, only that it enables the embryologist to select the best quality sperm when sperm fragmentation has been found. Hope all goes well if you decide to go ahed and try it. Diane
Hi Sheela, our clinic used it for us almost as standard because OH morphology was lower than average but I believe we were originally going to have zymot but something better replaced it? I think we had IMSI. Also it will be better for you to have ICSI. Good luck!
Thank you so much for the message.I had PIMSI on last cycle and only one made to blastocyst and failed to implant.I am planning to use Zymot and IMSI on my next cycle.
Hi Sheela, I've not yet had any direct experience of using Zymot, but we're planning to use this for our next IVF cycle. I've read of a few people (mainly of people in the US where it's much more commonly used) having very good/ improved results with it. I've also read of a number of embryologists and doctors endorsing it's use because they've found it to be beneficial in their practice. It can significantly reduce sperm DNA fragmentation, particularly double strand DNA fragmentation. This is because it selects only the best sperm to be used for either ICSI or IUI using a very simple sperm sorting device. Like a lot of things fertility treatment related it doesn't yet have huge studies confirming it's efficacy as a treatment (CARE fertility in the UK use it and have a short article on this very point), but we've decided to give it a try as it's relatively inexpensive (compared to other treatments) and I've heard some glowing reviews from others who've used it.
Hi Aliice, thanks for updating with your experience of using Zymot. We also ended up using it at a Spanish clinic. 100% of my mature eggs were fertilised, but we ended up with 3 fewer blastocysts than our first cycle where we only used ICSI and didn't do Zymot. Of the 2 blastocysts we ended up with we got one euploid and one mosaic embryo, so we ended up with the same results overall as our first cycle a year earlier. We were very pleased with that result though.
We used it in our last cycle due to low morphology. Our clinic is abroad and it was relatively cheap to add it on.
This was the first time we managed to get a day 5 blastocyst. Previously we only had a morula or day 6 blastocysts. I don't know if it was due to the zymot. In the end our cycle failed. We have other issues too. I think if we continue with treatment we will use it again.
Hi We used it for our second cycle with ICSI as partner has high fragmentation. This was the only variable we changed from our first cycle and it resulted in better quality embryos. They both were given a high grading, although the first embryo did stick around (fingers crossed for embryo no2), we would still use it when we do cycle no3.
Hi there. We did comet tests before and after using zymot and the results definitely improved. Before zymot my husband only had 4% of sperm that had no fragmentation. After zymot it went up to 21%. I also tried a round with donor sperm and compared it to the round with my husbands zymot sperm and the results were almost exactly the same in terms of quality of embryos. Our issue is now my eggs and so both of those rounds were not successful but its very likely because of my eggs. We have just created embryos with donor eggs and my husbands zymot sperm got good results (3x5 day embryos and 3x6 day embryos from 21 donor eggs). We are due a FET with these in a few weeks. I hope that helps a little bit.
As you may know the zymot basically mimics the fallopian tubes and they only use sperm that is able to travel the length of the tube into the end chamber. As such it is as close to 'natural selection' as they can get - this theory is what appealed to us. Best of luck and PM me if you want any more information.
Hi Sheela, we wanted to consider zymot, but as my partner has no motile sperm we couldn't use it. So it's not really an option for very severe MFI if there is no motility.
