I have a question and just looking for some advice as I try not to totally freak out.
I had a lletz procedure in March 2020 to remove grade 3 cells on my cervix. I got the all clear after my 6 month post op check up that my cervix was now healthy and to come back for regular smear screening in 3 years time.
All has been fine with my periods ever since but then in September this year I for my first covid jab - my October period sas awful, lasted about 3 weeks.
My November period was normal and then I had the 2nd jab on the 29th of November and I came on my December period on the 1st...a week early.
I've heard the covid jab can mess period cycles up so I wasn't too Concerned. I've been off my period about 10 days and on Wednesday morning I started having really light spotting. It's extremely light and very pink. I appreciate it could be ovulation bleeding as I also have sore boobs.
Of course I am beside myself with worry, I've contacted by doctor who is bringing me in on monday as a precaution just to have a look at my cervix.
Has anyone else experienced messed up periods or similar experinces after getting the jab? Just trying to put my mind at ease.

Hi, I remember reading about someone else saying something similar a few months back.
Sounds like it is a possible side effect. But best to speak with your doctor. In my case it was the thyroid medication that messed up my period. They put me on the pill before the cycle. They might do something similar to you.
Yes 🙌 it’s the jab, it ruined my perfect 28 cycle. Spotting every week since second jab. I know a few people who are the same since. Checked with Gynae and fertility and both said it’s the jab as it effects the endocrine system and should go back to normal in a few months. Had my second in august and still bleed 2 days stop for 6 days and then it just continues in that pattern ever since. Really frustrating trying to know ovulation days etc when cycle is so bizarre.
Oh sorry about that! I heard of that happening to someone who was expecting a funky period due to the jab and got pregnant instead. Could I ask, if you have no Fallopian tubes do you still ovulate then? It’s just that you mention ovulation and periods so I was very curious!
Wow I didn’t realise that could happen, so basically your eggs can’t travel down but you can produce them just the same and the lining seems to think it’s happening. So basically ivf is a really good option for you?
Hello! Yes, both the 1st and 2nd jabs (Astra Zeneca) messed up several of my cycles this year. I had been a pretty certain 28 day cycle throughout life until 💉 . I also tested positive for covid about a month ago and it made my period start a week early. Very frustrating in terms of cycle tracking! Now I am trying to figure out when to get my booster so that my cycle isn’t further disrupted. I figure there is no urgency as I will have some antibodies in my system now. Anyway, there was an interesting article on bbc news a while back- m.youtube.com/watch?time_co...
Hi there, I have average 28 day cycles but both cycles after the jab ended up being 21 days with spotting around ovulation date. I hope this helps xx
Hey hopefully you’ve had the reassurance you need but my cycles went BONKERS after both my covid jabs. Just had my booster so no idea what that will do. I always had a 28 day cycle and it suddenly went all screwy and was 39 and then 42 days and sooo heavy. Then 21 days and really light. It sorts itself out I promise xx
