Hi Crazy_cat. With my medical hat on - it is recommended that all pregnant women and those going through fertility treatments such as IVF/ICSI should have the flu vaccine, whatever stage of pregnancy/treatment they're at. This is because there is good evidence that they have an increased risk of developing complications if they get flu, particularly from certain strains. Studies have shown that the flu vaccine can be safely and effectively given during any trimester of pregnancy. The vaccine does not carry risks for either the mother or baby. In fact, studies have shown that mothers who have had the vaccine while pregnant pass some protection to their babies, which lasts for the first few months of their lives. If you do decide to go ahead with it, then sooner rather than later, as there have been some poorly people around already! All the best with your treatment cycle when it happens. Diane
Thanks diane, will definatly go ahead with it then at least I know all bases are covered 😊 just wanted to make sure having it done wouldn't effect any medications
