I know that there have been some posts in the past regarding acupuncture before embryo transfer. This will be our last chance really. We have 2 frosties but I just cannot afford to pay for another 2. So we are literally putting all of our egg in the one basket 🙈 we have have 2 failed transfers recently. The next one will be medicated and I was just wondering peoples experience with acupuncture. Thanks. Xx

Acupuncture. Yay or nay?
Hi.
It’s a yay from me personally. I found it helped me relax and helped with stress levels if nothing else. It was also great to chat to the acupuncturist- my version of counselling.
But it is expensive and should be started a few months before IVF ideally. You will need a session quite soon after transfer. I also preferred to have the sessions at the end of the day as I was so relaxed I didn’t want to do anything for the rest of the evening!
Best of luck for your FET x
Thank you for your reply. We are planning to do it again in the new year. Our clinic doesn't do theatres at certain times over Christmas, so I don't think I would get in on time before then. So thought we would get booking in Jan. I'll need to do some research of places around me and take it from there. Thank you for your help. Xx
Hey, stressful times!
I can honestly say acupuncture did nothing for me. However I am glad I did it because it meant I was never left with that 'I wonder if it would have made a difference' question. Its quite expensive but in my opinion if you can afford it I would definitely do it, as it won't have a negative impact, and at least you can say you threw everything at your cycle and not have any regrets. Good luck xx
Thank you. That helps too. I'm willing to try anything at this stage. There is no real reason why the last transfers didn't work, that's what is so frustrating. Everything looked perfect on paper. I will definitely give it some thought. I might just settle for massages to relax before hand perhaps. Xx
I had acupuncture for our first - it worked. I do think it's more about it decreasing stress and it putting you in a more positive mindset 🤔
I used to feel SO relaxed after sessions and so helped me immensely. But if you can't do it due to time/money then I suggest some mindfulness meditation, gentle walks etc. X
Heyy, I had 3 failed cycles and had acupuncture for the last two. It didn’t help with implantation for me but I did it anyway to make sure I’ve done everything I can. I’m going to change my acupuncturist now and see another lady who knows a lot about hormones and fertility issues. She was very impressive compared to my previous one who mainly told me to eat warm food and keep my feet warm. For me, it was more about the relaxation and help with my headaches and medication side effects. It has no harm and of you can afford it go for it. Best of luck xx
I second Daisy1245 and Mahriya, it wasn't for me and made no difference to my outcome but I'm glad I never wondered and threw everything at that particular cycle. I just did a before and after transfer session but I felt the one before, I was more concerned about the time than to relax. After was better but it didn't make me book another. Best of luck.
Thank you for all your posts. You are probably right in the sense that you want to try absolutely everything. I will defo look into it anyway. X
Hi Helto. The transfer I did acupuncture for a fee months before and before/after transfer is the one that stuck and I'm currently 22 weeks. Might be a total coincidence and obviously other factors involved especially the blastocyst but as someone else said better thank thinking what if! X
Thats amazing. Congrats to you. I bet you are very excited. Thanks for the info. Best of luck on your journey 🙂
