I have pcos and we have been struggling to conceive for 2 years. In April 2021 I had a hysteroscopy and labarascopy under GA to remove a polyps in my uterus as well as ovarian drilling. I was told it was successful, but 2 months later, the polyp had returned. I was then put on the waiting list for a hysteroscopy on the nhs. They weren’t able to remove it on the first try, I went back 2 months later and the Dr couldn’t find it and decided it had gone of it’s own accord. I have started taking letrozole and went in for my scan yesterday, only for the nurse to see the dreaded polyp. I’m so frustrated! The nurse said to continue with letrozole (I am on 3rd round) but that the polyp will make conceiving difficult. The polyp is 5x10mm and at the top of my womb. The endless waiting for appointments is so hard, but I’m also worried about ‘wasting’ my attempts with letrozole, if it’s unlikely we will be successful. Has anyone managed to get pregnant whilst they have a polyp?

Successful pregnancy with polyp?
I would ask the nurse if you can discuss with your doctor the best way forward for you - either stop the letrozole, get polyp removed or are they hoping it will resolve it's self- what does he adviseJanet
I hope you get some positive feedback here. I totally understand your frustrations, our experiences seem quite similar. I'm sure you're thinking at what point do we just try anyway. We have just had transfer yesterday and I have a polyp, measuring just under a centimeter.
We have waited so long to get to transfer and been cancelled so many times for various reasons at various stages so we made the choice to go ahead.
For every chance it may not work there's a chance it will and we are prepared for that.
Hopefully you will get some positive stories to help you make your decision
Good luck with everything
Xx
Hi there, I started IVF in 2017 and when I went for my first scan the doctor saw polyps and send me to do a hysteroscopy and the person who did it told me that I didn't have anything, back to the clinic and when I did the scan again the doctor told me the polyps are there and I could have difficulty to get pregnant, and told me lets trusted to technology. The other doctor told me it's ok I can get pregnant. I was so excited to start the treatment, that I went for my first frozen embryo transfer in 2018 And it didn't work try again in 2019 and didn't work again. Because of the covid, my third try take long as I told the doctor I'll not do it before they remove the polyps, they send me to do another hysteroscopy and this time a got a good doctor my angel who told me yes you have polyps and she will remove it. I removed it in March 2021and did my third attempt in June 2021 and thanks to God I'm pregnant by 23 weeks.
I'm over the moon my little boy 👶 is growing healthy. If I was you don't do it before you remove it, some women can get pregnant with it but it's so difficult.
All the best, don't give up.❤
Hi, I’ve had a dreaded polyp but what I’ve learnt is that it’s not whether you’ve got one or not but whereabouts it’s positioned. If in a certain area your clinic won’t transfer an embryo due to the potential of the embryo attaching to the polyp meaning you could waste a good embryo. I had one in round 2 which was removed privately (BFN) but had a polyp stump in round 3 which wasn’t an issue for transfer due to where it was and got a BFP. I’d speak to your clinic and ask them if it’s in a place that will stop your cycle and if so, I’d try to get it removed privately if you can afford too, the nhs waiting list was 4-6mths when I had one. I think it cost around £1,300 at a london hospital who do private appointments too. I also have pcos so anything to reduce any issues can only help and they did a scratch when they removed it too xxx
