Huge polyp found - any success stories after polypectomy?

Hi everyone, Hope you are all doing okay.

Please can I ask whether anyone has experienced a large polyp and polypectomy with positive outcomes?

After four failed transfers and some mid cycle spotting, my fertility consultant recommended a hysteroscopy. He said he didn't expect to find anything as all my ultrasounds had been clear during ivf.

As NHS wait time for hysteroscopy is currently 9 months in my area, I opted to go private with local anaesthetic and had this done yesterday. To my dismay during the procedure, the gynae pointed out on the screen a huge mass occupying most of the uterine cavity, which he said was a polyp and is sending biopsy to labs to confirm.

I am feeling really hopeless today and uncertain about the future. I got no debrief after the procedure just told I would be followed up in a couple of weeks. I'm also really upset that four good day 5 embryos were transferred and didn't have a hope of surviving.

One anxious me hoping someone can share a similar story with a positive end

Thank you, as always xxx

No experience but I just want to send you a big hug. I’ve been following your story and I’m so sorry as this must feel like yet another really unfair blow.

I suppose if the polyp has been causing issues with your previous transfers there’s a lot of hope that following the operation you will have success. Your day will come x

Hi lovely, sorry to hear what you've been through. I would be a little encouraged by this though as this may well be the reason for the failures so far, and there is every reason to hope if it's removed that you will have success 🙏🤞I finally had a hysteroscopy last week which was completely normal so still stumped as to why we've failed so many transfers 🤷

Thank you, I think I'm just on edge about the biopsy results and the waiting to find out how difficult the removal could be given the size. Sorry yours didn't give you any answers, but in a way a good thing they found a healthy uterus xx

No personal experience myself, but I've known many people with fibroids in the cavity go on to conceive very quickly after getting them removed. Fingers crossed for you x

Thank you, just quite anxious given the size of the thing. Really wish I hadn't been shown it on screen xx

No idea, it's one of the first things I plan to ask at the follow up. At this stage, just hoping it's nothing sinister.
