I'm about to have a cycle of clomid after bloods reveal no ovulation, has anyone been successful in getting pregnant after taking clomid and how many cycles?

Hi tokschic. Just to wish you well with Clomid. It can sometimes take a few courses before it works. However, I was always taught that if there was no success after 6 rounds, then perhaps IVF will be recommended. However, let’s hope that all ends well for you with Clomid. Diane

Hi tokschic,im on clomid at the moment although ive just had a month off.i had it 5 years ago,50mg for 3 months.it didnt work too well but 3 months after I stopped taking it I got pregnant.this time ive done 3 months on 100mg,I had a progesterone test last month and I have been ovulating.i havent taken it this month as ive been suffering pretty bad side affects.ive seen my consultant and he suggested having 50mg for the last 3 months and see what happens.what dosage will you be having?I wish you lots of luck and keep me posted.xx

Hi tokschic. I was just wondering if you would consider egg sharing, if you are under 35yrs of age? This would greatly reduce the cost of IVF for you. Might be worth looking into. Diane

I'm 36 I don't know if they would consider that age.

Hi. Sorry, I don't think they would. You could always ask - no harm in asking. Diane

Hi. I took clomid for 6 months before my first round of IVF. I have PCOS and wasn't ovulating. After taking it, Blood tests showed that I was ovulating but unfortunately I was unsuccessful at getting pregnant. My brother and sister in law had unexplained infertility though and took clomid. They had 2 successful pregnancies as a result -my gorgeous niece who is now and my 4 year old nephew. So hopefully u will be just as lucky! XXX
