Hey Fudge1980, I am very much in the same position but may have a few more details which may help. CD1 I was just advised to email the clinic to let them know, they replied and told me to start LH surge testing twice a day, 12 hours apart from day 10 of my cycle (day 8 if your cycle tends to be shorter than 28 days - I started testing day 7 as my cycle length can be very erratic and I didn't want to miss it!).
My clinic advised testing LH surge with the digital Clear Blue ovulation tests which includes detection of rising oestrogen with a flashing smiley face, ahead of a solid smiley face when you get LH surge - I just mention this as Clear Blue do 2 types of test, one of which doesn't include the flashing smiley face so i ended up having to buy 2 and they aren't cheap! I'm currently day 12 and 4th day of flashing smiley - bloody, grinning, smiley face, I'm sick of him! ha ha.
When I get my LH surge I've been told to contact the clinic again and they will book me in for a scan that day/the next day to check my lining and to determine whether I have a leading follicle. All being well, around 5/6 days later I should be booked in for my FET and presumably need to start taking the pessaries in preparation for the transfer a few days ahead of this. I've still got these from my fresh cycle.
Don't apologies for questions, all I've just been told is that I'll find out more when i come in for the scan, but it really doesn't help with mental preparation to be left in the dark.
Thank youuuuuuu! Yes that’s helped loads. I’ve just phoned my clinic but they are a nightmare to get hold of or phone back. Am glad you’ve told me about the other ovulation tests because I did a mock month and only bought the standard digital which I got a solid smiley on cd11&12. Loads of luck with your transfer praying you get a BFP!!! Xx 💕❄️
Thank you! You too! I guess the standard ovulation test is fine, you just don't get an advanced warning from the flashing smiley face. Hope all goes well for you.
Oh hey, nice to hear from you. I'm all booked in for my FET on Saturday. This is my first so I'm super nervous but also just so excited and relieved to be getting to this stage. Any news or clarity you've received your end?
Hi, I have just had a natural FET currently on 5DP5DT 😬. Every clinic is different and also depends on length of your cycle, mine is 28 days (although this month was a bit off ) but my FET went like this. I called clinic on first day of period. Had a scan on day 4 to check my uterus and make sure all was ok. Then had Scan on day 9, there was no lead follicle so had a scan on day 11 they checked my lining which was above 7mm then found lead follicle which was still only 13 mm at this point I started ovulation tests had another scan on day 14 and 16. Scan on day 16 showed lead follicle at 18mm so was given trigger injection to take that afternoon with my FET scheduled for 7 days later as I was transferring 5 day blastocyst. 3 days after my trigger injection I had to start the progesterone supplements. The day before the transfer the lab called to confirm time of transfer and what I needed to do. (Have partially full bladder when I came in). Day of transfer was straight forward went in within 15min our frosty was transferred.
Oh good luck 🤞🏼🍀❄️ See this worries me now 😯 clinic phoned me back yesterday and I asked for a run down. She never mentioned a scan so I asked “no scans” she said no as I have had a scan last month to check lining but it would depend if my consultant wanted to scan at some point. So I am confused now? Wonder why they wouldn’t scan? I know clinics are different but I do find it strange with no scan!x
So sorry I worried you. I didn’t mean to. Every clinic is different I have used two and both had very different methods but I do agree with JA-fnuk they should give you an outline of what to expect or even just next step. The whole process is so full of uncertainties so knowing your next step really helps. I would check again about the scan. Maybe the person you spoke to just had no clue. Really hope they come back to you soon.
Hi Fudge1980The clinic/nurse should tell each time you attend/or call what your next step should be If still unsure don't be afraid to ask them to repeat it or if still unsure question them
