What is classed as your period?

Finished norethisterone on Wednesday and today I’ve started cramping and had what I believe to be “spotting” - brown liquid at 1pm and now getting darker (dark red).

Is this spotting or CD1? See how it gets on tomorrow and if brighter, heavier than that is CD1?

I’m due to take IVF drugs (Fostimon) on CD2 and being a weekend the clinic is closed! What to do? 🤷🏼‍♀️

I queried this with my clinic and they said the start of your period is bright red flow. Hope that helps xx

Thanks for replying penny24. Is bright red darker than dark red? Isn’t is something to do with evening being a cut off too?

They told me it has to be a heavy flow before 10 in the morning . Enough to use a towel or tampax . Don’t know if that helps xx

Perfect. I’ll assume tomorrow is CD1!

i had the same a couple of weeks ago - we spend our lives dreading our periods coming, then once we start treatment they decide to play hide & seek.

my clinic said day 1 is full flow before 1pm, so hopefully you’ll be there by the morning.

wishing you all the best of luck ✨

I was always told that it's the first full day of bleeding as others have said - enough to use a Tampax or towel xx

My clinic counts CD1 as the first day you wake up properly bleeding.

Tomorrow is definitely brighter, heavier and enough for a sanitary project. I’ll count today as CD1 and tomorrow I can start stimming! Thanks for all your advice xx

Just asked my doctor this and he said first day is considered when it’s full flow, not spotting.
