As you can guess from my title I’m a massive coffee and sugar lover and I have poor discipline in cutting down.
I am having my baseline scan ready for FET on 12th oct, and hopefully ET will be 6 days after if uterus lining thickness is okay. When is the best time to start reducing caffeine intake. I have already started reducing sugar intake and down to 2 surgery snacks a day lol and I have sweeteners in coffee.
I know I should really start getting serious with healthy diet already but it’s such a destressor for me
Any Advise
Good luck everyone on your journeys

Good luck for your upcoming FET! My consultant said one coffee or two teas a day won’t make a difference. If it relaxes you, it’s probably more beneficial than cutting it out and being really stressed out.
I’m a tea lover and I carried on having my two cups during my treatment and pregnancy xx
Hey I agree with Kibo. They recommend stopping stuff 3 months before so I am not sure a couple of weeks will make much difference. Maybe just try and have one less or something but the angst of not having it might be worse than the impact of having it!! I have to admit I have done some IVF rounds where I have been as good as gold and got a negative and then got positives when I have ditched all 'good' stuff and done what I wanted! Also I think (not sure its true) but its almost slightly less important with an FET as the embryo was the number one priority and if you have a nice juicy lining and eat and drink as if pregnant after transfer you should be fine! Good luck xx
I'm with you on the coffee! If you can, get yourself a good decaff coffee (though don't go mad, they still contain small amounts of caffeine!). Some have almost no caffeine content and actually taste decent. And as the other ladies have said, I think you can have one cup or real coffee anyway. Good luck! xx
Yeah I’m still having a coffee in the morning…also, I’m right now sipping a cheeky g&t! Need it after the week I’ve had. It’s not like we’re pregnant now right?!?! xxx
Haha, I guess not!! I just want to do everything I can to ensure my uterus measures up and create a good environment for little Embryo, but also as I like too much my body will respond more positively lol 😂 how you feeling with the meds etc. so pleased I don’t have no more injections to have. Xxx
I know what you mean, but you can’t cut out everything, just cut down. I’m being a lot more relaxed this time. I’ve been feeling pretty nauseous since I started on 3x oestrogen/day. Hoping it passes, but definitely better than injections. How are you feeling? xx
I was worried about that too but as soon as I was 5 weeks pregnant I totally went off tea and coffee. The only things I want to drink now are water(cannot drink enough of this! 🤣) and apple juice.
Now I would say. Caffeine can cause infertility far more than anything else - it can also be a cause of miscarriage (although I think that’s with larger amounts but everyone is different and what someone can take is different to what someone else can take). Go decaf then you can still have the coffee without the caffeine. I just think it’s not worth it.
I'm the same, addicted to sugar. I don't like coffee but I love black tea. Unfortunately, there's a study out that says any amount of caffeine in your system in the first trimester can cause a miscarriage, it causes contractions. So I've cut it out. Sugar has been harder but I'm eating more fruit now as a substitute. Good luck with your FET! 💕
My clinic told me to stop having caffeine about a month before my cycle. This was super strict so I was told not to even have decaf coffee or pure chocolate. In everything else my clinic was easy going (they say you can eat whatever you want and have alcohol all through stimming) so I took their advice very serious. That was more than 3 years ago. 3 years of rooibosthee 😣. I decided to cut out refined sugar but did this only when I started with my down regulation otherwise I would go completely mad. Good luck! X
Are you storing the medicine for a very long time or using it soon? If soon I wouldn't worry about it as I believe the reason it needs to be refrigerated is for max shelf life. I got mixed up and kept my pregnyl (trigger shot) out of the fridge for a week. I only realized it had to be refrigerated when I already had given it to myself. This was in summer and it was really warm. I went crazy called my clinic in tears. They didn't really know an called the pharmacist out of hours. He said it was fine which was true because I got 5 embryos. So if that's fine I believe a few degrees in your fridge won't make a difference. If you want more replies I think it's better to start your own thread. Take care x
Few months is soon. What is the expiry date? I think it's absolutely fine but you can always contact the pharmacist for reassurance. Fridges are never fully stable in terms of temperature because you open and close the door- sometimes it's full or quite empty. I'm sure they take this in account. It really isn't an exact science. X
