Decaf coffee & sex.. 3 weeks after BFP! Help!

Hi everyone, hope your all well!

As some of you know myself and my OH were blessed to get our BFP on 4th Sept. Yippeee :)

After transfer I have given up coffee for obvious reasons as I used to drink around 4/5 cups a day (I know.....over kill!) I was wondering because I'm soooo craving a cup ...would be ok to have just one cup of decaf a day? or would this not be very good either?

Alsooooo.......**blushing** ;) I had sex last night for the first time since transfer, I felt comfortable with this at the time but this morning I woke and felt (emotionally) like I had been selfish and done something wrong and now have a strong urge to test and make sure I haven't jeopardised my pregnancy.

Any advice/support welcome

Lots of love, Laura xxx

Hi there, I drank Clipper organic decaf coffee throughout my pregnancy and was all was fine. I understand that organic is OK as the decaffeination process is natural - my acupuncturist recommended it and assured me it was OK to drink. It is really nice coffee too, albeit a bit expensive, and most supermarkets sell it.

Wishing you a great pregnancy! X

You're welcome! They definitely do it in Sainsburys and Tesco, but perhaps not the smaller 'metro' stores. Xx

Clipper also do an organic decaf tea that I also drank throughout. X

Hi Laura91. A couple of cups of Decaf should be OK. Gentle sex too - enjoy! Diane

I think there is unanimous agreement across the medical community that sex during pregnancy is fine, apart from a few, very exceptional circumstances (which I'm sure the doctor would tell you about, and which only come into play in later weeks). So have fun! Maintaining a healthy relationship with your partner is super important so don't jeopardise that based on an unfounded fear! :)

Thank God for that! I mean I'm not an addict but was starting to get a bit twitchy lol 😂 xxxx

I have lavazzo decaf. I thought all decaf processes used chemicals but after a Google on clipper have been educated that they are not. I will stick to lavazzo. I only had one bean to cup of coffee a day but miss the taste and lavazzo is the closest I've had.

Redbush tea is quite nice and completely decaf as is mint tea if you are looking for alternatives.

On the other part of your post I couldn’t leave my husband alone in the first trimester! This has tapered off second trimester and third trimester I’ve had no drive. At 30 weeks now it’s awkward with the big bump and the baby moving so much and the urge on my side has gone. He’s also been to zika zones so can’t have unprotected sex anyway.

Enjoy it whilst you can.
