I just wondered if any of you can offer any calming words. After our third IVF cycle, yesterday we got our first BFP. I was over the moon, I was in that much disbelief that I took 3 tests just to be sure it was positive.
But this morning, I have what feels like period pains and I'm bleeding. I phoned the clinic who just said to monitor the bleeding to see if it gets heavier and re test in 48 hours and thats all I can do.
So now I am in panic mode. I'm so scared that this is all about to go away. Has anyone had a similar experience right after a positive test?

OK deep breaths!! First of all congrats on your positive!! Thats amazing news!
There are loads of reasons why you can bleed in early pregnancy and they don't have to be bad news. Sometimes you do just bleed when your period would have been due, sometimes its a bit of rogue lining come away, sometimes there is no obvious reason you just do.
I don't know what tests you used? But if you got three strong positives yesterday things won't have changed in 24 hours so dramatically to all be over.
I know its IMPOSSIBLE not to but worrying really won't help at all. Keep taking your progesterone and think positive, I am sure you will get LOADS of 'this happened to me' comments from people on here.
oh and cramping is super normal in early pregnancy.
Thank you so much for your reply! I took the test the clinic gave me to start with and it gave a faint line, so I took 2 of the first response tests and both showed a stronger line. So I just figured "yay I'm pregnant" the nurse at the clinic this morning asked how strong the lines were which worried me but when I said the line on theirs was a faint one she didn't seem to concerned. It's pink coloured blood that's coming, this morning it only seemed like spotting but there's more now, still pink but more of it. Should I take another test? Thanks again! This group of amazing women is a life saver on days like today!
Can you upload a picture of your tests, this might help people give advice. Pink spotting can just be from implantation so it isn't necessarily disastrous news. I don't think taking another test will help as it really needs to be first morning urine so it will just worry you more. I hate to say it but I don't think you are going to get a definitive answer and it is best to leave it 48 hrs as HCG won't have doubled to make enough of a difference by tomorrow morning. My sister got a super faint positive on test day, and also bled, and her daughter is 5 months old so it can all be fine.. but equally a faint test can be the sign of a chemical.. its the progression thats more important than the tests themselves as all tests vary even the same brand. These were the pregnancy tests. As you can see their one was the faintest line so I did the other two. So that could be a bad sign? Thanks again for all your help
Hi Acoulson. Oh dear! It might just be a little irritation from your cervix espcially if you have been prescribed pessaries. If you think it could be that, you could switch to using your back passage to give the "front" a rest for a few days. Keep an eye out in case you may have a bit of an infection and speak to your GP if suspected. Hope all soon settles down. Diane
Thank you, maybe I can try that just for peace of mind. I'm getting more worried as the bleeding started off pink and light but it's getting more red and a bit heavier now. It just feels like I've started my period with the usual period pains 😫
