Dear All,

I have been prescribed Doxycycline after HSG procedure. I feel sick when I don't take it with food. But with food I heard that it doesn't absorb very well?.

Am I taking it wrong ?

Xx

Hi. It’s not the nicest of antibiotics and best taken with food. I was advised to take it with lunch with a full glass of water. I was glad to finish the course. Best wishes x

Hi - I’ve taken it a lot for sinus infections.. it’s definitely ok to take with food. I try not to have too much, but generally a couple of pieces of toast or a slice of bread and a banana helps prevent me throwing up! Alternative is I’m sick, and then it won’t work because I’ve thrown it all up, so better to take it with a bit of something to line your stomach :-) :-)

Hi Madeline. Oh dear, sorry to hear this. Try taking it with a glass of water, then eat something. Good luck, it's a brilliant antibiotic but not user friendly I'm afraid. Diane
