Hi ladies I was thinking it may be my blood pressure causing the headache I have been having since yesterday. However, I started weaning from progesterone and this headaches started. They are bad.
Anyone had headaches on stopping progesterone? I am still using but reduced dose. I am on tablets and suppositories

Hi Jolinkomo, I have to say I didn’t make the connection but now you’ve mentioned it I started weaning off progesterone at 12 weeks and finally came to a full stop today (15 weeks) and I’ve had some some really bad headaches the past couple of weeks. I was thinking it was hormones but you could be right and it’s the lowering of progesterone x
I've had the most awful headaches from 11 weeks onwards but I've not had any progesterone supplements. I got really worried but every website says it's a common symptom. After horrific pain for 3 days I called the midwife who said it was probably tiredness and stress. She said this because my blood pressure had been taken a few days before and it was absolutely fine. Now it's a bit better again (touch wood). I hope yours get better soon as well. Take care x
Hello. I was interested to read this as I’ve been getting the most awful headaches too. I stopped progesterone at 13 weeks after my scan and the headaches have been v regular but I would never have put it down to progesterone.
I asked my midwife and she said headaches might be down to dehydration, too much screen time or my slight iron deficiency. It can’t be the first two as I drink so much water and get heachaches even on non-work days. I started on liquid iron last week but no difference as of yet. I’m glad to know I’m not alone as it’s a really horrible symptom and I hope you all feel better soon. X
Hi Jolinkomo, At the end of 12 weeks, I stopped progesterone and oestrogen at the same time and had the worst headache for about 3 days. It did fade after a bit, hopefully the same happens for you. X
