Hi. I think you both need to be ready. I'm a bit in similar situation now. My daughter also was born in 2018 (icsi) and we had only one embrio left but one month ago we decided to go ahead and today after 2WW doctor called and said I'm pregnant again 😍
Now my first daughter bit more independent , nursery and I'm definitely ready to enjoy another baby.
I used same protocol, medication and even we had one one embrio it's was less stressful because we already have our miracle daughter. You have 5 times to try 🙂 I will feel even more relax 😉
Hi, sorry to jump on the question but would you be able to advise what’s the procedure with second try. I understand once you had a baby you have to pay for the next time. I had my LB last year on our third ivf treatment and got one more froze embryo. Thinking of going for it next year just wondering what are the costs.
Hi. Because of covid restrictions I'm doing it in another country (transfer embrio from UK to Singapore) but before I was told the cost for second one in London will be just the cost of transfer embrio inside you and medication /preparation NHS cover plus storage cost every year I paid £325
Sorry no much help as I didn't go to much details with cost because we stuck in Singapore and easier and cheaper to bring embrio here for us
I dont think your ever ready, but would say if your thinking about it go for it.
We were very blessed and lucky with successful ivf round (first time) in 2018 with twins however we sadly lost one during the pregnancy. Our little boy turned 3 at end of February.
Last year we decided to do a FET with one of our frozen embryos. Delayed from March to September due to Covid however it wasn’t successful 😞 then we did a further natural frozen transfer in April this year and again sadly it failed 😞
Now debating whether to go through a full cycle again, but there is longer wait times because of Covid delay.
Maybe it was Naive of me to think and really hope that it would just work.
You both need to be ready for whatever the outcome. Good luck and sending lots of positivity if you decide to go for it 😊
I have a little girl from IVF in 2017 and we waited until our little girl was 2 and 1/2 before we tried again. We’ve since done a frozen, a fresh and a double frozen transfer all failed and I now wish I maybe hadn’t bothered waiting so long after my daughter was born as now we are at the stage where we think we don’t want to go through another fresh cycle again x
It is such a difficult decision. We also had success in 2018 with our first round of IVF. My daughter will be 3 in December. We decided to try again last year...I'm not sure why but I thought an FET would be a much less complex experience. In a way it was (no egg collection etc) but it's still quite long winded. Lots of meds etc. We found out on Christmas day that we had been unsuccessful. Its such a tough choice, but I think if you feel ready to have another and you have plenty of chances then you've nothing to lose 😊I think the thing with IVF is that it can become all consuming, however, the positive thing is its not as all consuming as the first time around as a toddler is a brilliant distraction!
