Am I really pregnant?!

I've never had this emotion before- after 3 1/2 years of trying, a laparoscopy and a round of IVF I'm apparently pregnant! I can't believe it though, seems too good to be true. I've had two positive pregnancy tests but I keep thinking I must have done them wrong or something! Now I've got another 2ww for my scan- I will be so relieved when I actually see a heartbeat on screen! Until then it doesn't feel real. The nurse said I'm 4 weeks 4 days, don't quite understand this, I think it goes from the ovulation date rather than fertilisation?xx

They date it from ovulation/egg collection and assume that's day 14 so your first month starts 2 weeks before ovulation.  

It's very natural to question it all!!

Just enjoy it hon- enjoy this feeling of having another life inside you :). Rest up, relax and enjoy xx

They normally take the first day of your last period as day 1 (otherwise known as LMP last menstrual period - you may see this written on your medical notes and subsequent scans). So, as WeeMrsH said, this will be 2 weeks before your egg collection and EC would have been your ovulation day. Your due date will be 40 weeks from LMP. At your scan you will be between 6-7 weeks pregnant and they may take measurements then to compare to your dates. I'm sure that's as clear as mud now, sorry! But if you look online there are due date calculators that take IVF dates into account, maybe try one of these to check properly.

I am so happy to see this for you!! Congratulations!!! Yeah it goes from the first day of your last menstrual period so when you may have only just conceived you are 4 weeks preggo already. Take it super easy missus and relax/sleep loads in first trim xxx

I'm confused too! I put it in the ovia pregnancy app which said I was 2 weeks further than I thought but makes sense with what the above have said! Will let you know what they say on scan day (Thursday!) the 2ww goes quick don't worry (not like the other 2ww!) And congratulations!!!!!!!xx

Hi everyone , I'm happy to announce that I am pregnant, we saw the baby and heartbeat on Monday!😊 I am so happy but obviously still nervous because I'm only 7 weeks today. I have always wanted to be a mum and there were times when I thought it would never happen but nearly 4 years later, IVF has worked for us. I hope this gives you hope, don't give up on your dreams of motherhood xxx💕
