Thickened lining post failed FET

Wondering if anyone can offer any advice?

I had a failed embryo transfer on the 16th of August. Stopped medication on this day and started heavily bleeding on the 19th of August. This resulted in passing a huge amount of tissue, I have been bleeding heavily since and spotting today (7xdays) I have never bled for this long, and have been in almost continuous pain since my transfer on the 5th of August. I was seen in hospital today where I was scanned, there’s no pregnancy (no surprise there) but they informed me that my lining is still really thick and there is more bleeding to come!!

I don’t understand this as I have been bleeding heavily and solidly for 7 days, can anyone offer any advice or as to why this is still the case?
