I had my first egg recovery on the 12th of June and it was decided we would freeze embryos and go for a frozen transfer due to high risk of OHSS. I haven’t heard anything from the clinic since and I just wondered if this was normal and what the timeline usually is for FET after egg recovery?
I’m also still bleeding heavily - is this normal? Sorry if TMI.
Any advice is much appreciated. ☺️

Hi, I had a freeze all. Due to the same reasons. I had withdrawal bleed which was about 5 days later then I was able to go for a frozen transfer (I did natural not medicated) the next cycle. My period was delayed in coming the following month though and I ovulated over a week later than usual but I think this can be quite common. All in all. It ended up being about 2 and a half months later x
Hello, I had an egg collection May 1st and having my FET next week, so nearly 2 months later. Can’t comment about the bleed as mine are normally heavy anyway but I don’t recall that they are longer, best to check with your clinic. Best of luck x
I had my egg retrieval on the 16th so we are pretty similar timings 🥰 I also had to freeze all because I did have OHSS. I’ve had a call with my consultant to discuss how everything went (as I wasn’t expecting to have a freeze all), I’ve also had 2 scans since retrieval to make sure I’m recovering well and have another one next week. I have a nurse consultation next week to discuss the FET procedure and timeline as I will be doing a medicated FET due to my cycles being a bit irregular. I haven’t yet had my withdrawal bleed but expecting it within the next week or so. I would ring up your clinic if you haven’t heard anything yet so you can at least discuss next steps and a timeline. (I’m expecting my FET in August) so like others are saying, around 2 months after retrieval ☺️. I suppose though they are waiting to scan you once your withdrawal bleed has stopped so maybe they plan on talking next steps then?
Either way, give them a ring if you’re concerned! Good Luck x
Hi DinoBaby. So sorry to hear about the OHSS which in itself can take a while to recover from. Probably be more like three months before attempting a transfer due to waiting for the bleeding to stop. Hope all goes well, and keep drinking plenty. Diane-Partner
