Just a quick update and to see if any of my thin lining buddies have any advice.
Im due to start medication for an FET tomorrow (if baseline scan is OK). I've been here 5 times already and only been able to have one transfer due to thin lining.
Im really struggling today, I'm finding it so hard to be positive and not feel defeated before we've even started. I've tried everything that I can think of to increase my lining and had a scratch this month to see if that helps. Sadly my periods are still extremely light so I can't see that any of the changes have made any difference. I'm finding it so hard at the moment to remain positive when I know my lining has let me down so may times in the past.
Has anyone been in this situation and got any words of advice for me? I feel a bit like giving up today, I just don't know if I can face all the sadness again for another month xx

Oh I completely know how you feel, lining is always my fear....well that and the fact we've had so many failures! I know my lining is a flipping nightmare but yours really does sound like its giving you way more problems! Do you have your protocol for lining prep? What are they suggesting meds wise this time around? Did you down regulate this time? I know its hard, Im not really looking forward to getting back into treatment if Im honest but then whats the alternative....walk away from embryos, I just cant do it!! Here for you if you need to chat!xx
Thank you, I know you have also had your fair share of problems with lining amongst other things!
All I've been told to do this time is take the progynova (3 tablets a day) and they will see if I need patches. So really nothing is any different to the other 5 times we've tried. We transferred clinic at the beginning of the year so it feels like we've taken a step back as they want to try it all again. We tried oral viagra last time but that did nothing at all.
Did you do anything that you feel got you over the line? I'm drinking all the raspberry leaf tea and taking all the supplements! I just wish I knew why it was so thin so maybe we could try something different.
Thank you for getting back to me, it's always nice to have support from people that know how it feels. I wish you so much luck for your best cycle xx
I may have already given you my protocol. My clinic decided after a few failures of starting on low dose and increasing every few days..... that they would start me on day 2 of my period with progynova high dose (8mg) and a patch which gets changed every 48hrs from the get go then I usually add in an extra patch after scan after 9 days of meds. They only added in patches as I tried adding in more tablets and it didnt seem to make a difference and they said that trying to get estrogen into me by 2 different methods may help and that's what we have gone with since. I also take high dose vit E and I use DHEA (this is supposed to be for eggs but my linings were not bad when I took it so stuck to it). The raspberry tea I really think helps. My best lining yet was actually after 2 fully medicated cycles....I did an FET cycle to do an ERA test for my implantation window then the clinic introduced progesterone and then started back on estrogen to prep or transfer - I also had a cancelled FET cycle and had to re-prep and had a decent lining back then too so the clinic thought that was perhaps the way to go and thats what the plan is this time around. Might be something to consider? Is your lining thin in a natural cycle as a natural transfer may work better for you? The only other thing that I can think of is I have seen some ladies use gentle stims to increase their lining. I havent done this but worth an ask and the other thing Ive seen others mention is trental (pentoxifylline) but again havent tried that. Just all things to try if this maybe doesnt work. Its hard moving clinics as they kind of do like to see for themselves what procotol they may used but they may also have some better ideas of what to try if they arent seeing your lining thicken up, some are way better at thinking out the box. Thank you, hoping flights get going soon and we can get on our way again!xx
So sorry you’re struggling today. I know we’ve caught up before about lining but just wanted to ask you a personal question, have you gained any weight in lockdown? Only reason I ask is because I have and I’m wondering if it’s helped mine. My lining prior to ovulation was 7.3mm this time- thickest it’s ever been but I’m also the heaviest I’ve been since doing any of this. I’ve always been a healthy weight but exercised like a maniac 🙄 I have been doing exercise in lockdown & lots of walks etc but nothing as intense as I would at a gym. I’m not overweight now just a few pounds heavier (not going to beat myself up about it during these weird times) but I have been wondering about it & just thought maybe would give you food for thought - excuse the pun 🙊 I do recall when I had my egg collection my lining was about 5/6mm and I was a lot lighter then too.
Also do you need to have a medicated FET? Progynova didn’t do anything for me at all but natural is much better. I have also been drinking the tea and doing castor oil packs etc.
Thanks for getting back to me. So glad to hear that things seem to have improved for you, that's great news.
I am probably a bit bigger than I was but nothing major. I've given up all exercise for months now so who knows, it might have made a difference. Fingers crossed xx
Hey Pebbles, I’ve done 3 cycles now, and lining has been awful all times. I transferred on 2 FETs with a lining at 6.2mm then 6.4mm. Tried extra progynova up to 10mg, never seems to make much difference. Also tried vitamin E, L-arginine, aspirin. Currently on my 3rd FET, been on 6mg Progynova for 11 days and lining just at 5.2mm, so been upped to 10mg for the next 4 days. Drinking red raspberry leaf tea, and laying vitamin E again this time. Nothing seems to work. Really feel your frustration, there just doesn’t seem to be a quick fix.
My clinic does always reassure me that as long as it’s trilaminar and over 6mm it should be ok.
This cycle I’m just adding lubion to try and help implantation. Hope your lining behaves better for you this cycle.
🙋♀️ I’m a thin lining buddy. My first transfer was cancelled as the lining was too thin. I had more patches earlier on the second time and whilst it still wasn’t thick, we transferred anyway but sadly that cycle failed. I so feel for you. As if we haven’t got enough to worry about it’s just another thing to add into the mix. I’m still waiting for my period after my MMC and like you, they are so very light, I’m almost scared I might miss it! Sending positives thoughts you way and please know we know how you feel xx
Great news, wishing you loads of luck.....keep us posted!🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻xxx
Hi pebbles. I havent tried the following yet but will today as i always have cold hands and feet (which apparently means cold uterus). Apparently these exercises are good for blood flow ?
Thanks, I also suffer from cold hands and feet and my acupuncturist said the same. It didnt make any difference for the last few times Ive tried it but Im gonna give this a go again...no harm!xx
