Just about to start out first IVF cycle and trying to stay calm and not over think what’s about to happen. I’ve read lots posts about the prescription given and costs. I’ve had the invoice though my clinic today we are paying privately. Not relieved the drugs yet as due to start 06.09.21. It’s come in at £1,521. Which is more then expected. Menopur £1267, HC, £44, cyclogest £91. The rest is handling/delivery charge. Suppose my question is this my only option to pay it or something else? In my head I thought about a £1k and if having to do this multiple times it will become costly, which we did expect but not £1.5k. Thanks 😀

I found ASDA cheaper than some of the private dispensary companies such as stork. But I’ve only used ASDA for my FET drugs not my stimulation drugs. But for sure, the likes of cyclogest, progynova and clexane where cheaper using ASDA pharmacy xx
I checked the drug costs my clinic charges versus this. The cost will also depend upon the dose of the stimulation drugs and type of progesterone etc. I decided to go with the clinic for convenience as there wasn't a huge difference and they adjust the meds as you go.
Definitely take your prescription to Asda and ask them to quote for your meds.
I saved over £1000 on Menopur, Cetrocide and Lubion. I was so happy!
Hope it helps. Xx
I paid my clinic £50 for a private prescription and bought majority of my prescription through Asda pharmacy. What Asda could not provide I went through the clinic (Stork). Still worked out way cheaper than, solely through what I would if paid Stork. Good luck 🤞🏽
