I’m convinced my multi vitamin is making me have all day sickness 🙄 anyone else the same?
I’m currently on Pregnacare but think the iodine is not agreeing with me . I’ve changed when I take it and always with food but the all day sick is just not going. I’m sick sometimes shortly after I’ve swallowed them. ( once after this I took straight folic and a vitamin d tablet and I wasn’t sick at all the next day)
I’ve ordered a gummy version that don’t have iodine in them but they also don’t have iron so not sure they’re ok??? ( they have folic acid, vitamin d , zinc etc )
Any advice ????

Hey RhinoCat, hope you are well! Try the zita west pregnancy plan. I take those and I’ve been okay on them. I was told to switch to those by my nutritionist as apparently they are better. Xx
They look good but have iodine too! My mum is allergic to iodine and I know I can’t have the old fashioned red plasters as I’m allergic so think it’s the iodine but maybe it is needed 😔
Yeah, think I’ll try that today . I have zinc, vitamin d and folic . Might also call the gp to be safe . Strange thing is I haven’t been sick on this tablets over the past couple of years until now when I got my positive. But what I know is, it’s defo the tablet at the mo 😭🤯
Oh I’m the same! I’ve gone off all my vitamins since being pregnant. It might be you just feel sick in general. Well for me that’s the reason but you know your body. If you think that’s the reason, then just stop them. As long as you are taking the folic and vit d you should be okay. X
Strange how it’s making you sick! I’ve found that I’ve gone of taking them because I take so many different oral meds anyway for this pregnancy, and when you feel nauseous, it’s never nice to throw things down your throat! Try sucking on orange or black current ice lollies - they help with sickness xx
I am so sorry to hear you are feeling sick! I suffer from hyperemesis gravidarum and I find it incredibly hard to get my multivitamin down. I also had no problem with the HUGE cocktail of vitamins I was taking prior to pregnancy...but once I hit 7 weeks...geez. 😅 I am lucky to get my multivitamin down and nothing else. I'm glad you take it with food! That seems to make it a bit better. My FS and GP said not to worry about the extra vitamins and to focus on just making sure I got the prenatal down...so give your doc a call and find out what is the most important for you to take! If you can get it in gummy form even better! Perhaps take it at a different time of the day? Have you noticed a type of food that seems to help settle your tummy more after the vitamin?
I’ve tried after breakfast, after lunch , after dinner …. Etc …. Evening is best but as soon as I feel hungry I get sick so trying to snack more but it’s hard because I can’t eat much as the smells are making me hurl 🤪
Yeah, I get it. I'm losing weight since I'm lucky to eat a small bowl of cereal and my multivitamin each day. And that's a good day! I was informed as a rule of thumb that if you are vomiting over 10 times a day (I was clocking over 30) and can't keep anything down...you probably have HG. They do have some medications that may help you feel better and keep food down so don't be afraid to ask your doc!! Smells trigger nausea and that horrible taste in your mouth...just about anything really 🙄 So please check with your doc. 🙏Dehydration is a real issue and you could end up regularly in hospital on iv fluids like I did. It's not fun and it just keeps adding to the worry you're probably already feeling after your bfp! Good luck! Xx
