FET with a hemorrhagic cyst - any similar stories?

Hello.

I had my baseline scan for my upcoming FET the other day. This will be my 3rd FET this year, the first two failed. This time they found a large looking blood filled cyst on one of my ovaries. Apparently it can happen after ovulation, it just fills with blood and can go away over time.

The doc didn't seem overly worried - but he wants to rescan me on day 1-3 to check on it before giving me the go ahead for the cycle. He said it's more an issue when doing egg retrieval rather than a frozen transfer.

Has anyone gone ahead with a frozen transfer whilst having a decent size cyst on ovary? I'm not sure what options I'll be given to proceed but would love to hear any similar stories.

Hi there! I am afraid I can’t offer any advice, but you are not alone as the exact same thing happened to me yesterday! Ahead of my 2nd FET the scan found a cyst on each ovary. As it is a FET I was told I can carry on (more of an issue with egg retrieval). I had a cyst on a cancelled FET cycle back in Jan and since then they have down regged me before each cycle apparently for that reason. I find it all very confusing and worrying too. Keen to hear others’ experiences too! Good luck 💕

Hello! Oh yes very similar indeed. It is really confusing isn't it. But that's good they have given you the go ahead! I suspect I'll have the same thing. I am expecting my period in the next few days so should be able to have my follow up scan and see what the plan is. I've never really had cysts on my scans so it was a bit of a shock as it looked massive and filled the whole scan screen. Hopefully some other stories will be shared to reassure us ☺️🤞🏻 good luck with your cycle! X

Hello! Just thought to check in and see how your cycle is going? My cyst had almost completely gone by my follow up day 2 scan, so I started my meds. I have my lining check scan today and will hopefully get my transfer date confirmed for next week...!

Hi! Good to hear from you 😃 Great news about your cyst … I wish mine would disappear too they are still there (but haven’t got any bigger so taking that as a win for now) 😭 I had a lining scan on Tuesday and I wasn’t ready so had to come back today. Thank goodness (!!) it was ok today - it has been a very tense week - so have a transfer booked in for next Friday. How did your scan go today? X

Oh that's brilliant news! Glad your second lining scan went better. My scan went well and I'm booked in for transfer next Thursday 🙏🏻🥰 so I am now gearing up for it too. Always an anxious time in the lead up and then after. Hopefully we both have good transfers next week (almost transfer buddies 😊). How are you feeling about it all? X

Oh I'm in the same boat so also feeling all the emotions! 3rd transfer this year for me too, so I'm hoping it's third time lucky 🤞🏻 Let's stay busy, calm and composed and hopefully it'll be transfer day before we know it!! X
