Miscarriage probability chart

Hi guys,

So I've been looking for something like this for a while and finally found it. I realise it might be hurtful to those ladies who have miscarried close to 12 weeks given the low odds AND this is clearly not the most scientific chart out there as they can't cover unreported miscarriages but I couldn't not share. As someone who has miscarried before and having an anxious first trimester, this is a little bit reassuring... Che sarà, sarà in the end and obviously, ideally, we would sail through the prenatal checks without stressing but ... megalols! I'll just leave this here.

I would say once you pass 4-6 weeks and see a heartbeat you are on better odds of having a successful pregnancy chances of miscarriage are reduced- however a few poor ladies will lose a baby after 12 weeks 🥲 out of my 4 miscarriages only 1 was after 12 weeks ( at 20 weeks) but after 12 weeks is very rare to lose a pregnancy thank goodness . The majority of my miscarriages were before 7 weeks. I think that is the riskiest stage of any pregnancy. By 8 weeks pregnant you can book up with the midwife as NHS England will say there is less risk of miscarriage then.I certainly feel much more happier having seen our baby's heartbeat last Monday 😅 all the best with your scan hope it can give you reassurance all is well ❤️Xx

Let's hope so Jess. My miscarriages were both at 6 weeks and with low HCGs so have never gotten "this far".. sorry to hear about yours. Awful fcking things. Glad your scan went well. I just want to fast forward 7 months.. 😁

Miscarriages are truly awful such heartache 💔which you never fully get over , I'm so sorry to hear about yours 🥲 they really taint the excitement out of a pregnancy 🥲 2 of mine of were chemicals they seem sadly pretty common. I'm nervous wreck after my late loss but trying to take it one day at a time and get through it best I can. I would also love to fast forward 32 weeks and have the baby 😂👍lots of women that have losses do go onto have a healthy baby and I'm sure there is no reason why this one couldn't be your rainbow baby 🥰 I definitely believe you are over the biggest risk - they say miscarriage rates drop at 6 weeks and even more after seeing the heartbeat and again it drops further at 8 weeks hence nhs allow you to then book to see your midwife. I'm sure your bean is fine good HCG levels are a good indication it is progressing well but I understand you need to see that on the scan because I'm the same! I expect you are counting the days down like I am for my next one 😂 the period being testing and scan is sooooo long in my case I tested at 3.5 weeks and had my viability scan at 7 weeks 5 days😱 what I can say is once you had your scan it does go a bit quicker and before you know it you will be booking to see your midwife appointment! It felt surreal after a 7 year struggle ( to have our now 2 year old daughter) tho trying for a sibling has not been very easy either! 😱 you are nearly over the worst of it it will get better ❤️‍🩹 Xx

You're telling me! I tested on 5dp5dt! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ feels like an eternity and it's only been 3 and a bit weeks.. Come on, we've got this, we'll get there!! One day at a time and so far so good. So far so good has become my mantra for the first time in my life.. ❤

Yes, I had a 1% chance of miscarriage according to that chart but I still did. Because my daughter had a genetic condition, I actually had a 100% chance of miscarriage from the start, we jut didn't know that. I looked at that chart every day, so excited to watch my chances of miscarriage go down. And then I miscarried. So yeah. Mixed feelings.

I'm so sorry, just heartbreaking I lost my daughter at 20 weeks when the odds would've been so unbelievably low very rare but sadly some of us can be that low statistic 🥲 after a full post mortem I still have no idea why my daughter suddenly just died big part of me wishes I did know 🥲
