Looking for first time success stories with ivf over 40.
I’m 41 and will cycle this year or next for a sibling for our son with donor sperm.
Worried about having to do multiple cycles due to the cost. Wondering if anyone got pregnant on their first go over 40?
I did last time after a donor sperm icsi cycle (i was only 35) and also with my first FET (41) however I had to terminate for medical reasons 2 weeks ago due to trisomy 13
I’m thinking I’ll do a PGS cycle so would be a FET. Just worries my eggs won’t be up to scratch anymore.
TIA 🙏

Hello there, as someone who did my first IVF cycle when I was 42 years of age, my advice will be to hope for the best but prepare for the worst. I turned to IVF because my husband had a vasectomy only.
I wish I invested in a multi cycle package sooner. There are some packages that will refund you your money back if you are successful the first time.
I know there will be success stories of women over 40 falling pregnant the first time but you never know whether it will happen for you. Not only do we have to contend with a diminished ovarian reserve, there is also issues with quality. If you are opting for PGS testing as well, you have to be prepared to have the news that none of your embryos are viable,
There are so many hurdles to overcome in IVF that it is best to go in prepared.
I hope you don’t see this as too doom and gloom- I do hope you do get your first time success though 🙏🏾
I did at 42 (almost 43) but I know it was pretty much a miracle. Obvs they can happen but I’d advise you don’t wait long before trying again to have the best chance.
I’m 41 and thinking of egg freezing early next year - how much time did it take to do egg freezing process did you have to take time of work ?
Did you do more than one cycle? Where are you based ?
I know people talk about packages for egg freezing.
Did you do ISCI method or before freezing?
I’m like JoyfulStar trying to get some anecdotal feedback about peoples experience as there isn’t really specific data for our age group and freezing methods have much improved in recent years.
Would really appreciate yours or anyone’s feedback on this!
Hi. I didn’t freeze any eggs. It was a fresh cycle and I was extremely lucky that given I only got 2 eggs, one of them stuck and I have a gorgeous 4 year old now. I used a London clinic
