I am having the ERA/EMMA/ALICE biopsy test this cycle and therefore this cycle is a ‘dummy’ round. Because I’ve had borderline low progesterone around transfer day in the past, we are going to add lubion 25mg to the normal utrogestan 800mg this time and test my progesterone in this ‘dummy’ cycle to see whether this brings it up. My question is whether it matters if we test on what would be the transfer day (which is when I have the biopsy) or the day before. The doctor is suggesting just do it on the dummy transfer day but when I do the actual round I will probably want to test the day before the transfer. I could push to make it the day before but I don’t know if it matters? Anyone’s experience of having progesterone tested would be good to know. Thanks

Progesterone check - day or FET or day before?
Ive done both! If you check on your dummy transfer day then you'll have a good idea where you loves are for future and you can up your meds for next time. Some people have upped their meds on the day of transfer if necessary and this works out ok if you can get results that day. However if you cant get results and adjust on transfer day then the day before is maybe better. Good luck.xx
Thanks Cindarella. At my clinic you don’t get the results until the next day, which is why I’ve asked for the test the day before transfer in the past (and would on the next transfer). But then obviously there’s less time that I’m on the progesterone before the test. That’s why I’m wondering about mirroring it in the ‘dummy’ round

As you are taking more progesterone it might be worth testing in the actual day in your ERA as then you would know what it would be on the actual cycle. I probably would test on the day before if this time around isnt enough this time to allow you to put it up. Once I had something that worked I didn't check my levels as I had something that worked!!xx
Having it done on dummy transfer day is going to give you the best idea of your level at transfer, and if it is low on the dummy they would up your progesterone for the next round so it is unlikely to be low on the real go (or if it is it is likely to only be a bit low). In a natural cycle your progesterone should peak at 7 days after ovulation so it is unlikely to affect things if you up your dose on d6 instead of d5. However, if you are really worried about it it would be best to explain your concerns to your doc and they can either do it earlier or reassure you transfer day is fine. xx
