period after ectopic pregnancy

Hi, I had an ectopic pregnancy removed by surgery along with left tube 2 weeks ago. Anyone had the same and could tell me when their periods started again? thanks!

I’m sorry to hear. I had the same last year July. My period came 5 weeks after surgery.

Hi mandp82 mine also came 5 weeks after the procedure. Crazy to think my body ovulated just a few weeks after that awful experience. Our bodies are amazing really.

After my surgery I shed the deciduous caste (uterus lining) in one go a couple of days later so counted that at cycle day 1 and got my next period about 4-5 weeks later (that was my first ectopic)

After my second ectopic I counted surgery day as cycle day 1 and again around 4-5 weeks

Just bare in mind that you need to wait 2-3 cycles before trying again

After my second ectopic I had tube removed early July and went for egg collection in the September

It took me more than 6weeks since surgery for my first period. I think it also depends on how high the HCG levels were when you had the surgery. My harmones took ages to come down. I had to go for a weekly blood test to see how much the levels were dropping by.

Hi mandp. It can take up to 3 cycles for your periods to return to what is normal for you. Hopefully you won't have to wait that long. I do hope you have plenty of support around you just now, after such an unfortunate experience. Thinking of you. Diane

My son's girlfriend had an etopic pregnancy didn't have a period for 2 months, and been told she may be going through an early menopause. Anyone been through anything similar
