After my successful round of IVF and after seeing a heartbeat 3 times I was told last night that my baby’s heart stopped at 9 weeks 1 day so it is a missed miscarriage.
This has raised a lot of questions of me as it could be just terrible luck as this is my second loss but I am also aware I have a unicornuate uterus (half a womb) that increases my chance of first and second trimester miscarriage. I am 34 so not in a bracket where age should be a factor.
Has anyone else got this condition? Has anyone else had IVF with specialist advice? I feel like I need some specialist support and feel a bit lost as the condition is so rare and wonder if I need more bespoke treatment.
I have 2 embryos in the freezer so I just want to make sure I do all I can to give them their best chance xx

I'm so sorry to hear this - I hope you're doing ok - although I'm sure you must be devastated. Are they able to test the embryo tissue to determine why you miscarried? I don't know much about it, having never got to BFP but I've seen others on here talk about that. Sending you lots of love xx
I am hoping they will. I think because my condition with my womb is so rare I need to know whether continuing with treatment myself is viable or if I should move to surrogacy xxx
I have a UU and also suffered a missed miscarriage at 7 weeks. Unlike you, I didn’t see the heartbeat beforehand though as found out during our viability scan. We did have our rainbow baby after 4 attempts and the loss of a twin. My boy also came early at 28 weeks. Unfortunately, due to our condition being so rare, nobody within the NHS knew how to treat it, we were consultant led and they all fobbed my fears and concerns to one side, even after my waters broke at 27 weeks they were adamant id make it to 35+ weeks.
We had a blood test through our clinic and found my husband is a carrier of a mutated gene that causes sticky blood which can carry through to the foetus so I was on clexane and believe this did help as after the numerous hours I’ve spent scouring the net, one theory is lack of blood flow as we have half the size?
I’m happy for you to DM me if you wanted to know any more about our story, I’ve noted some of it on my profile as well xx
Hi, I just got the same news today. Scan at 7 weeks heartbeat, today at 9 weeks no heartbeat and measured just 7+4. Absolutely devastated. Feel so numb. Haven't even cried, can't believe the whole thing. Hope you're doing ok 😘😘 xxx
