Day one of down regulation. Let the rollercoaster begin...again!

As the title says, just started my first dose of buserelin today (day 21) for my first FET after an initial failed fresh transfer. Anyone in the same boat?

Hi! I did my first injection about half an hour ago! It's my first ever IVF cycle so nervous/excited. How are you feeling about it all?

Hiya! I’m much better this time thanks! First time around I was definitely over stimulated. In a lot of pain/discomfort & stressed like hell! It was never going to work!

This time I’ve got rid of lots of stresses, I’m having acupuncture, hopefully taking all the right supplements(!!) & feeling more positive.

This is my first FET. I’ve had just the one fresh cycle and got two embryos out of it. In hindsight I wish I’d not had my fresh transfer as like I said, I’m sure I was over stimulated. But hindsight is a wonderful thing!

Wishing you all the luck in the world. You should definitely be excited but also prepared for an emotional rollercoaster too. I think my husband sometimes hid from me!🤣

Please keep me posted. It would be good to follow each others’ journeys x

Glad you're feeling better about it this time. I'm also doing accupunture and giving reflexology a go next week (I'm trying everything!).

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and yes it will be great to follow each others journeys. I don't know anyone who has gone through this so this forum is so helpful! Xx

Yes this forum is really good for advice. Everyone seems very normal on it and so many people have been through the same things so it’s great for asking questions and having a good old rant!

hey maybebaby your first round sounds like the one I’m in now and your next round sounds like what I’m planning on doing. Just wondered how things have turned out for you as this post is 3 yrs old. I’m really hoping things turned out positively for you xxx

Unfortunately it didn’t work for us. We had the two embryos from the first cycle but no joy with either. We then went through another painful cycle and didn’t get a single embryo for transfer. I think that was the worst outcome of them all for me to get my head around.

We had a lot of male factor issues though (vasectomy reversal 16 years after initial surgery) low numbers of everything when sperm sample was tested.

There were actually no issues with me but the odds were stacked against us. We tried Impryl and every supplement under the sun but it clearly wasn’t meant to be.

I really hope there is a different outcome for you.

oh wow that’s such a lot. I’ve not left my bed for two days hoping my bfn at 9 and 10dp5ft will turn around. I’m so sorry for what you went thru xxxx
