Hysteroscopy- I just had one 2 days ago , how much and how long bleeding afterwards is normal?

Also what is the interval time between the hysteroscopy and starting next ivf cycle ?

Thanks ❤️

I was bleeding for over 2 weeks after hysteroscopy, doctor told me if I will bleed over 2 weeks they will need to prescribe me some medications - which was probably some antibiotics as they removed micropolyps from my uterus. I didn't want to take any medications as I was already down regulating, preparing for my FET. My fertility doctor advised me to take 2 birth control pills instead of one and my bleeding stopped. Went straightaway into my medication plan for FET and month and a half later I had my transfer done xxx

Thanks for reply. I’m hoping I’ll be able to start my next cycle end of April but I wasn’t sure if they recommended more time in between . That’s great you’ve stressful had your transfer. Do you think the hysteroscopy makes a difference in chances of ivf working ? X

I would say yes, it is making a difference if they find anything inside. Polyps can be a cause for miscarriage or implantation failures. I had 3 chemicals in the past so wanted to make sure that everything is clear inside. Biopsy will tell you whether you have an infection inside your uterus and this is very important to know. After I had hysteroscopy my fertility doctor decided to put me on antibiotics for 2 weeks in case I have something hiden like adenomyosis. So far so good, still pregnant 😆 I cannot believe myself that I am typing this 🤭

Hi Rol81 ive had 2 hysteroscopies and I did not have any bleeding. How heavy is your bleeding? Did they take biopsies? If so then maybe a little is to be expected. However, did they give you a number to call the nurses just to check what to expect after. The clinic should give you information on what to expect after the hysteroscopy

Hi x thanks for replying. After the procedure nobody came to discuss what had been done. I was in an outpatient ward at the hospital . They said to ring the clinic if I had any questions. I just got a discharge letter stating a polyp removal and biopsy result pending . Bleeding is like a light period bleed I think.

I’ll give it a few more hours and maybe ring before the clinic closes.
