Hi, I am about to start 2nd IVF treatment. My doctor told me that I can take either Menopur or Pergoveris for stimulating. She said to me that I can choose but I don't really know about pergoveris (I only know the ratio is different )and I only used Menopur last cycle which was unsuccessful.
Does anyone have any experience of taking Menopur and Pergoveris?
Did you find any difference?
Thanks,

I have used both. Menopur on 2 cycles, one of them got me pregnant... and Pergoveris on my most recent for a sibling. I’m still in the process of transferring embryos from the Pergoveris cycle, but considering I’m 3 years older, I got fewer eggs but the same number/grades of blastocysts.
The reason we changed drug is my blood charts were studied from the menopur cycle and I was advised Pergoveris works better in certain women because it is controls LH levels more effectively, in turn producing better quality embryos, regardless of grading.
Although I got pregnant on my menopur cycle, the rest of my good grade frozen embryos were either failing or not surviving thaw, which they thought was odd. So a change of drug may be worth a try. Good luck! X
Hi thank you for sharing, that is helpful advice. I got 5 eggs and 2 fertilised with Menopur. I'm low amh, I don't know that I only got 2 fertilised because of low amh or because Menopur didn't work well...Thank you I will have a think x
Thank you for your reply,28?? Wow, it was 8 with Menopur and got 28 with Pergoveris? Did you change or add any medication apart from Pergoveris?Do you mind telling me that how many fertilised at Menopur cycle and Pergoveris cycle?
Yes, we were very surprised about the result. From the 1st menopur cycle 8 eggs, 8 fertilised and 5 embryos - and they were all really good graded embryos. All bfn. 2nd cycle we did pergoveris, 28 eggs, 22 fertilised and 16 embryos. So for the pergoveris cycle I used DHEA for 12weeks leading up to retrieval. I also followed a well balanced diet and exercised regularly. I also drank 2-3 liters of water each day - no caffeine, no alcohol. All bfn. Then I changed clinics. Our 3rd cycle we used menopur and retrieved 11eggs, 8 fertilised and 8 embryos🙏🏻. I also took DHEA for 12 weeks leading up to retrieval, followed a healthy lifestyle and took 4x Staminogro tablets before bed, extra 5mg folic acid as well as omega-3 tablets daily. (BUT...I had a T shaped uterus and I had the correction surgery 4 months before retrieval). The doctor did a fresh 5day transfer (very first fresh) and I am currently 27 weeks pregnant with twins - all glory to God!
Thanks for sharing your journey and congratulations on your twins! that is so exciting:)!
So...you took DHEA for a while. I would like to get one but here UK, DHEA isn't licensed so can't get it easily. I read a book about infertility, it says DHEA is really good especially women for low AMH, like me. so it is very disappointing that I can't get it but yes, I will do what I can do. I had never heard of Staminogro before, I will google it. All the information you gave me is helpful, thanks.
I decided to take Menopur this time in the end, as I realized that I will have additional new meds for next cycle and higher dose of Menopur so it is better to see if they work this time and if not I will try Pergoveris next time. I think I will start taking it from the end of March. Until then I will try to be healthy as much as I can!
Were you doing any exercise while you were having treatment? x
You are most welcome🤗! Yes, I worked out at home - so I downloaded a workout plan and it was so easy. I preferred not going to the gym due to the virus. I also went for a brisk walk/jog 3-4 times per week. All the best and please keep me updated🌸
Hello, I know I'm 3 years later but if you read this, could you kindly if you remember inform me of your protocol with pergoveris? Do you remember which day of your cycle you started the injections? Thank you so much for your help. I found this forum also because I had tried Menopur and Merional which didn't work and now will start pergoveris. But the clinic also wants me to do Letrozol which I'm not fund of as it can have hair loss side effects apparently.
