Pergoveris instead of Menopur - Hopeful 41 year old

Hi Ladies

Ding Ding ER no.5 incoming.

This is my 5th full IVF cycle. I thankfully got my beautiful daughter after my 2nd round, and i have tried several times since to give her a sibling.

A frozen embryo from her cycle (PGT) implanted, but i miscarried at 7 weeks.

I done 2 further cycles, but 1 had no viable embies and 1 got zero fertilisation.

This is my last cycle.

I am 41 (nearly 42), low AMH, endometreosis, and my consultant has changed me from menopur to Pergoveris. I hope this makes a difference.

I am on Pergoveris, GonalF and cetrotide soon....

Anybody else similar or have some good news stories to share - lets keep the positive thinking going.

Hi there.I am 40, have low ovarian reserve, endometriosis and under active thyroid. On my second cycle I was changed from menopur and gonal f to pergoveris and cetrotide. We only had 2 follicles but got 2 embryos which were both transferred on day 3 and I’m currently 24 weeks pregnant with our rainbow baby.Wishing you the best of luck.x

Thats amazing! Congratulations. I hope you dont mind me asking, but did you do the pre genetic testing, or had you been advised just to transfer? We have always done the testing, we only got 2 embryo to ever pass. One is our daughter and the other i miscarried...but i am now wondering if i should just transfer rather than test (depending on numbers)...ie. If i get 1 or 2, just transfer, but if i get more, maybe test?

I am only on day 3 of my stims, but i am a little crampy, very low down, so i am hopeful this is from all the little follicles growing and the stims are working!! x

No we didn’t do genetic testing as we didn’t see the point with 2 embryos.Although if we had of got more we probably would have.We did do the harmony test though at 12 weeks.x

Hi Mrsjaytee. Looks like a good combination for your next round, with Cetrotide in the mix to prevent ovulation, and hopefully maximise egg collection quality. I did wonder whether you have had your tubes checked out prior to this next cycle? Check with your specialist to see whether there could be an issue. All the best! Diane

Thanks Diane, no issues with my tubes or lining etc.

Cycle 1 - 5 follicles

Cycle 2 - 18!!! Got my daughter and another viable embryo (tested), but i sadly lost this one at 7 weeks.

Cycle 3 - 4 follicles - 2 eggs, both failed PGT

Cycle 4 - 3 follicles - 2 eggs, neither fertilised

Cycle 5 - replaced menopur with pergoveris, also taking GonalF, cetrotide will be introduced in 2 days.

My issue is the quality and quantity, but hoping for another round like my 2nd (even though it was in 2020)..
