My Consultant has suggested trying a semi-medicated FET next time as my natural FET was unsuccessful. In hindsight, he thinks it didn’t work because my luteal phase was too short (my period came just 6dpt).
He’s suggested trying a semi-medicated cycle next time - with oestrogen tablets & progesterone pesseries. No down-regulation.
I’ve come away feeling so confused! I don’t have any issues with womb lining thickness so I don’t understand the purpose of taking oestrogen?! Does this just enable them to pinpoint the timing of transfer more accurately?
Any help/info would be really great!! Xx

This is the protocol that I settled on after down regulation wasn't agreeing with me, lots of horrible side effects from the meds. You would use the estrogen (usually progynova) to build your linind up, this also usually stops ovulation so the clinic can time your transfer based on your lining thickness and appearance and you would then start progesterone in prep for transfer. So yes, in short its a way of controlling your cycle better.xx
That’s brilliant, thank you so much for clarifying! Yes the down-regulation phase doesn’t agree with me either. How did you get on with doing it that way, did you have success? Xx
Its so much easier without down regulation and quicker! We had many failures due to progesterone issues however once we got that sorted we had success on our last transfer and currently 27 wks with twins. Good luck.xx
That’s amazing & so well deserved, brought a tear to my eye 💕 I hope everything goes well for you, not long to go now 💕 Thank you, fingers crossed 🤞 xx
