I am looking for a place to do Natural Killer test - Immune tests. My clinic does not offer this. I am based in London. If you had some done in London, could you please let me know where by private message and how much it costs? Thanks a lot!

I'm with doctor hassan Shehata. Well, I was, but have been discharged as I am now 20 weeks pregnant 😊100% recommend him, I wouldn't trust anyone else. He's the best in his field. Google 'hassan Shehata miscarriage' and read all the articles about women he's helped.

I read a lot on here, women who've had nk cell treatment... But they were only given steroids. He does so much more. He jas a clinic in epsom but does 1 day a week on harley Street.

I couldn't say for sure how much it cost altogether, but you can call the clinic and ask for a price list X

Sure, so initially, one injection of humira (I had an allergic reaction, was supposed to have 2, but one was fine) - this lasts 12 months. Then, 2 weeks before ivf cycle, hydroxychloroquine (hcq) 2 tablets a day.

Then on day of egg collection I started steroids - predisolone, 25mg a day...

And an intralipid. You need an intralipid once every 4 weeks when pregnant.

We got 2 abnormal embryos at our last cycle in July, so couldn't transfer... But I got pregnant naturally in September because of the drugs I'm on. X

Most of these drugs either stop or you are weaned off from 12 weeks

Hi Zebedee, so lovely to hear about your natural pregnancy! That’s such a positive story 😊Could I ask what made them prescribe you those, ie what did your tests show on terms of the levels etc? Happy for you to email direct if that’s not too personal to ask, many thanks in advance xx

I can't actually remember what my results were, but the tests came back saying one of the types of nk cells was particularly aggressive, meaning my embryos were attacked at implantation stage. This added up with our experiences. My first pregnancy ended at 7, then the next at 5, then only really early chemicals. I saw another girl on here mention she wasn't given steroids... I was lucky, I still got them even though it was the pandemic, as it was already onmy plan.. Steroids 100% are key. Literally the only pregnancy I ever had get to to this point (well, 7 weeks) was, when I took the steroids. They really help the baby stick x

We're currently on transfer number 4 (previous 3 all ended in MC) and if this doesn't work/ ends the same way then we've said we're going to see Dr Shehata before doing number 5. Sounds negative of me, when I write that, but we like to have a plan 🙂

I am also under the care of Dr Shehata. He obviously has very good success rates, but his treatment didn’t work for me. Just before Christmas I miscarried a chromosomally normal baby (conceived naturally) after his treatment, which includes Humira, Intralipids, hydroxychloroquine, cyclogest and aspirin. After five miscarriages, we have now transferred our care to ARGC. They do offer the Chicago tests and are very much believers in immunology and its affects on pregnancy, and even though they are expensive, their approach is more aggressive and they monitor you like a hawk (constant blood testing and scanning, where they tweak your medication according to how the pregnancy is progressing). I’m much happier with this approach, as I felt there were drugs that Shehata didn’t give such as steroids (which he refused to prescribe me because of Covid) and Clexane last time that may have made all the difference to my pregnancy. I’ll never know, of course, but I feel much more comfortable with the ‘throw everything at it’ approach now. It’s totally a personal choice! Wishing you so much luck on your journey. xx

Thanks a lot for sharing this. Please let me know how it goes with ARGC and what they prescribe to you. I will only have a few trial sadly as I am struggling to create embryos. I will also want to try everything

Hi. Most of the private labs in London require a doctors request for these tests because they need to be interpreted by a doctor. I did my tests through zita wear my clinic at the Doctors laboratory and in total it cost £1900 for both. Results take 14 days. You can only do these tests at most labs Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday before 12. As the samples are then couriered to Chicago. If your clinic won’t give out the request in for you - you could either go to another clinic who will do it (so you pay for the consult and the tests) it you see a private gynae who can make the request and the charge will be whatever the doctor charges plus the blood tests. My gynae is based out of 25 Harley street and consult is £250. Hope this helps

I’m in Manchester and my clinic have said there’s a place in Coventry that do the NK cell level tests. They’re about £540. I haven’t had them done as my clinic have given me the steroids without them but it’s something to consider.
